Why do people have a problem with this. Its the coaches job to back his players and its better for the coach to say things like this then the players.

Pete Carroll would be jumping around so much he would leave holes in the turf if Wilson was hit that late.

But he wouldn't run to the media after the game and say the other player is essentially a sissy.

If Sherman had said something similar after a game about let's say Steve Smith if there was an altercation, would you have a problem with it?

I'm guessing no. Matthews talked a LOT of shit this last week about how he was going to be hitting Kap hard and often. I have no problem talking shit right back, especially after a dirty play after a dirty hit on Kap. The fact that Harbaugh does it is both honest and genius in that the target is on his back, not one of his players.

And truthfully, would you have an actual problem with it if PC said the same after a similar altercation? Or is this another attempt to ride the "above reproach" train that you SEA fans seem obsessed with?

Umm, isn't that what every defender should be saying every week?

Sherman is not a head coach that talks about how is team stays above reproach. That rhymes yo!!!
Packers coach Mike McCarthy defended his star linebacker.
"Clay Matthews is not a dirty player, by no means," he said. "I addressed Harbaugh's comments in the team meeting and as always we'll stay above it."

I have a feeling that McCarthy REALLY means that they are above it.

I dont mind Harb's antics. Like SF fans know it's part of his strategy.

But he should have never implied that his team is above reproach and others are not. Because he obviously doesn't live by that credo.

See that is why I dont have a problem with it. A player comes out and says these things that he is a coward or whatever then you are going to get late hits that sort of thing coach says it, he is essentially protecting his players.

It's always important to be "above-reproach".

I agree, RD. A dignified person would never want to make a horse's ass spectacle of themselves in a lame attempt to get attention. One a self-centered asshole would so something like that.

For me this moment kind of sums up what Harbaugh is all about.

Almost any fan would be disillusioned and humiliated if their coach conducted himself like that.

Only true if the call went in his favor. Us Niner fans don't care about the tantrums because he is winning and winning often. HammerDown, if he was the coach of the Titans, you would love it.

If Sherman (or any player) had said it, I would not mind, but a coach needs to set a good example, especially one who stated his team is above reproach.

I don't deny that possibility.

Imagine what kind of volcano explosion meltdown we'll see on the sidelines this Sunday evening if Seattle drops something similar to 42-13 again.

It's not a matter of if, but when, if he continues with this behavior that one of his own players knocks him the fuck out during a practice. He's not in college anymore where these guys have total control over all players. Someone is going to snap back at one of his tantrums and it will be richly deserved.
