It is tradition...win or lose fans go out onto the field! They rush to players for autographs, wrist bands, etc. Been that way for years and people are just now talking about it.

I did it every game as a kid growing up. Made my day when I made it to terry Allen and got his towel. Wore it in every little league game i played.

this has nothing to do with the win over Georgia. If we would have lost fans would have still gone on the field. Kids are able to throw football, kick FGs, and enjoy an experience of getting up close to the players.

It is what it is...a tradition! Not because they won

If I was 18, in college....I'd be rushing the field too.

most of the adults you see on the field are with young children. My kids did not go to this game with me but when they do I take them on the field. My 10 year old runs wild out there and we have a meeting spot that I walk over to and wait for him to get done talking to players.

It is really exciting for the young kids. Also, friends and girlfriends of players b-line to see them.

ESPN did a great job on that piece. Most people did not realize they took a bus ride. It started because when they initially put the rock over there, the locker rooms were on that side.

Then later on down the line the locker rooms moved so the bus ride was initiated. You can hear the roar start from the WestZone when they load the buses and hear it move down the stadium. Pretty cool.

South Carolina famously fans rushed the field for beating New Mexico State in this decade.

That would be NM State...not the great University of Mexico powerhouse.

So, I guess its just a statewide thing.

That game was Sept 2, 2000. Last I checked, decades were only ten years long.

You get yet another fail.

it has never taken away from a big win. It took nothing away from the win Saturday. The excitement of the crowd and the atmosphere of players celebrating a big win is still there. It is still much different experience.

Not many places where fans can get up so close and personal and interact with the players. To me it is one of the things that makes Clemson's gameday experience unique and I have been to tons of places in the southeast.

Pass outs at halftime and this is something lots of schools have gone away from that Clemson continues to allow and it is pretty cool.

Some got it, some didn't, and some are women.

Carry on.

What's the big deal? Different teams celebrate in different ways. Clemson fans rush the field. Georgia fans lick each others' balls. Bama fans take home a fat girl. WTF? To each his own.

:suds:
Thats hilarious !!!1

Then you'd be in category 2 and no foul. Also, welcome.

These threads are not troll-proof. Just an FYI. Go ahead and assume everyone is being sarcastic, or trolling, or is just an outright asshole, and you'll do fine!

Nobody is trolling Edisto. I'd call it some humorous teasing as it wasn't meant to be taken serious.

if you do it every game it has to take away from the important wins. most schools only rush the field after huge wins or upsets

what's your point? it still takes away from the important wins. most schools wait for an important win which makes it all the more special, you guys do it for every win. imo that takes away from the importance and fun of rushing the field
