Hmmm OK Ill try

QB- This is a tough one but MOST people ( unbiased, which I am clearly not) would go with Ryan. He has just done it longer. Kaep and Wilson are both really really good though so kind of a moot discussion.
RB- Ill give the edge to Seattle with the Niners a close second. I do really think all 3 of these guys are going to have HUGE years this year ( Lynch, Gore and Jackson). Go with Lynch because of recent past.
WR- This isnt even worth talking it about, its Atlanta and not even close. Probably the biggest blowout of any position argument on these teams.
TE- Atlanta with a tiny edge of SF, Davis is a stud but Gonzo is the best ever so there you go.
OL- SF for sure although Seattle and Atlanta both have good lines too.

DL- SF by a bit, probably the Niners strongest position IMO.
LB- Tough call here IMO, Ill go SF again but its close.
Secondary- Seattle, exceptional secondary for the Hawks.
ST- All 3 of these teams have great ST but Ill give a slight edge to the Niners here especially with Harvin going down. Yeah I know they "werent going to use him to return"... LOL. Get real.

That leaves me with a ranking by position of
1. SF
2. Atlanta
3. Seattle

Its kind of nitpicking to debate these 3 teams IMO because they are 3 of the 5 best teams in the league and are more than capable of beating each other on any given day. The injuries to the Niners may play a part in how the season shakes out but as of now Id give SF a slight nod based on position rankings although Atlantas biggest weaponry ( skill positons on the outside and TE) now are an absolute nightmare for SF to deal with after the Culliver injury.

SF coughs the ball up on special teams way too often. I don't know about Atlanta's, but Seattle special teams is definitely better than SF.

I would definitely have to rank them San Fran first, Atlanta second, and Seattle third at this time.

San Fran takes the cake for me just because the OL and DL of this team is just ridiculous. They say games are won in the trenches and well it doesn't get much better than San Fran.

Atlanta it is hard to bet against that offense as I don't see many teams that could match up with them. Defensively they leave a little to be desired but I still trust that offense a little more than any of the other 3.

Seattle has a lot of potential on both sides of the ball but injuries and suspensions have to be factored in at this point.

The 3 QBs are good in the own ways, Matt Ryan is the better passer by far. Both Kaepernick and Wilson rely heavily on moving around the pocket and waiting for coverage to breakdown.

Seattle will win the west, I think the Niners will lose 3 of 4 to the Rams and Seahawks

Niners have the best defense, Atlanta has the best offense

Atlanta's defense is pathetic, and probably has the worse depth between the 3

Atlanta has the best Offense and SF has the best Defense, but football is a game of match ups, and Seattle has been built to match up with San Fran. As to the season, all three will have their hands full. New Orleans is going to be back in a big way and in Atlanta's face, and SF and Seattle have no guarantees of both making the playoffs. Arizona and St Louis are two of the most improved teams in the league, I think the wildcard comes outside the west. They are going to beat each other up

As a Seattle fan I'd probably go San Fran, Seattle, Atlanta. They are very close though. It's not like ranking Atlanta 3rd is THAT big of a difference from San Fran/Seattle. One of those 3 teams is supposed to win the Super Bowl this year according to most expectations so there ya have it.

IMO San Fran has the best O and D-Line and that's really where it's won end of day. Justin Smith is the best 3-4 pass rusher in the NFL, the O-Line is top 3 (New England and Giants come to mind).

Seattle is second in this category. Irvin (when back from suspension), Avril, Bennett, Mebane, Clemons, and some of the preseason rookie/sub looks is pretty sick and they have an all pro center and pro bowl tackle that allowed < 2 sacks all season. If they can get their guards figured out they might surpass San Fran.

Atlanta has the amazing threat of White/Jones/Gonzo but the team just lacks explosion on the defensive side. I see their defense not near as dominant as San Fran/Seattle, the latter of which got vastly stronger this offseason. Hell their 4th string corner could start on most teams as the #1. Atlanta just doesn't give me the threat Seattle does. Ryan seems a little shaky at times, Jackson is LONG overdue for an injury, Gonzo is getting very old, and their defense doesn't really have any major playmakers. Seattle has Clemons for the playoff game and you've got a San Fran/Seattle NFC championship.

Seattle and San Fran just have more explosive players at the skill position outside of WR. I'll take better LBers, secondary, D-Line and O-Line over some dominant WRs.

If I remember correctly, the Falcons eliminated the shehawks in last years playoffs..the score was close but the game looked very lopsided in the falcons favor.

Matt Ryan is one of the most overrated QBs in the league

Hmm pretty sure most of America saw it a different way. If Lynch doesn't fumble inside Falcons 20-30 yard territory, the defense doesn't choke on the last series, and Clemons (the top pass rusher by far on Seattle) is healthy when basically everyone on the Falcons was, Seattle clearly annihilates Atlanta on the road playing one extra game.

Dunno what you were watching, but Seattle started a little slow but very equally matched Atlanta. Both teams with 2 turnovers, Seattle put up nearly 500 yards, Altanta surrendered no sacks but that was against a team without their best pass rusher who went out the prior week, Atlanta had a week of rest, and Sherman aside from one TD stonewalled White.

Atlanta is just not that great of a team. Matt Ryan has proven he is capable of making some very good plays on the final drives of games, but has not proven he can take over any sort of demanding mental game early on. He lets teams back in games. In the second half aside from the last drive Ryan just went comatose and allowed Seattle to charge right back in. He was the WHOLE reason Seattle basically won the game. So what, he made a couple nice throws to the best WR core in NFL history the last few minutes. He still allowed Seattle to get everything going.
