1st round picks. Thompson's drafts have produced solid talent through the later rounds but round one hasn't treated him too well. Although Raji and Matthews went in the 1st round together if I'm not mistaken, so that was a great 1st round to be sure. Overall though he's got a lot of bad 1st round picks. Just imagine of Harrell was Joe Staley, taken 12 picks later, or if Sherrod was Justin Houston. Obviously it's all hindsight now, so it's easy to say who would have been better, but I, for one, am sure glad we don't have to deal with Staley protecting Rodger's blind side...

I didn't come to sling shit-don't roll that way.

I am not going to debate that the Lions didn't make better use of their first round picks, still doesn't negate the irony that ANY Lions fan would criticize other teams drafts. Even though they couldn't help but have the most inept GM in franchise history at the helm, doesn't amount to a squirt of piss when you compare total draft picks for each team. The Packers have the best in the NFL over the last years regardless of whose first rounders panned out or not.

As far as making anything stick, I will no doubt have plenty of opportunities to thump my chest on this board when the season gets underway but probably will not do so. The best thing about being in a position to say "I told you so" is not ever having to say it.

Iove these types of statements. As if our draft history has anything to so with other teams' history. Just bc the Millen years brought us some crappy drafting, doesn't mean we don't notice other teams' ineptitude in drafts. As a fan of football, we have the right to call out any thing from any team. A team's winning percentage doesn't enable u to comment on facts. Deal with it. Weak argument bro.

It is the quality of the overall draft that results in the Packers winning percentage so it is relevant and I am dealing with it quite nicely thank you.

Grew up in South Bend with ND basically in my backyard. Cubbies were on WGN all the time. Couldn't stand the Bears and I got to see the Lions as they played them twice a year plus every Thanksgiving. Obviously rough times for each of my teams, but what team hasn't gone through bad times? I'm a true fan, what can I say?
