If Zito can't lose it on the mound, he will bring it with the bat.

Outstanding!!

Agree. If they want defense, call up Williams. If they want offense, call up Monell. If they want to actually build for the future, call up Susac.

I do not understand why GQ is here. He adds nothing. One AB was nice, but blind squirrels and all that...

:agree:

tzill approved!

Agreed completely. This makes way too much sense, unless the PTB's have some vested interest in being stoopid and stubborn.

"Yeah, GQ has had some rough at bats, but he's seeing the ball well, and will turn it around soon."

He's hitting .188, and has 5 hits in his last 28 at bats (.179). There is not there there. His catching skills do not make up for his lack of hitting, and he has no future with this team. I don't want to wish a guy ill, but he is not cutting it.

Give up a bunch of runs on a bunch of pitches? Check.

Walk a batter in? Check.

GIDP? Check.

On the first pitch? Check.

Give up a HR to the opposing pitcher? We will see.

Walk the bases loaded? Good chance.

:L

Both Zito and GQ with FPGIDP. How in the name of all that is good is GQ batting ahead of Stamos? GQ would be lucky to be batting 9th! Nice lineup, Noggin.

Too bad about that 5 for 28 slump, because before that he was hitting .192.

You know you are bad when you are hitting .192, AND THEN go into a slump...

Herk :L

OK, here's the deal. As this game has progressed, the longer the at bats, the better we are doing. Hits and walks are coming deep into the count. GQ, Zito both GIDP on the first pitch.

Towers and Moped walk, Panda sees three pitches before singling. So Herk swings at the first pitch and grounds out to end the inning.

Now, is that on Herk or on Bam Bam. Wouldn't a hitting coach be saying, "Be patient at the plate, the guy is wild, wait for your pitch?"

I know, broken record, and I should be beyond caring at this point. (sigh)

In other news: Giants now 75 innings since their last homerun (Against AZ in the 5th inning by Posey on July 20)

:gaah:

Frenchy now 7-37 as a wearer of Orange and Black. (.189)

One XBH

And a SPOM. Hasn't he been watching guys work the count?!?!?

:gaah:

Frenchy murders LHP, hitting a robust .222 against them this season.

Does Zeets even return to San Francisco, or continue on the road trip? Or does he get a ticket back home?

I feel for the guy, sort of, in that he lost his dad this year. But $126 mill can buy a lot of grief therapy, I guess.

Don't know why he has been so awful on the road.

Whiteside's fault.

Odds this was Zito's last start as a Giant?

Serious question.

This is a two-run game, and Miller almost REFUSES to actually talk about the game.

Even the announcers have had enough.
