CHICAGO -- The old Derrick Rose is back.

Chicago Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau said Rose's speed and explosiveness are back to where the former MVP feels like himself again.

"I worked him out about a week ago," Thibodeau said in a phone conversation Thursday. "It was great."

Sounds like Thibbs got word from ownership to talk Rose up for a future trade. Why keep paying someone that much money who's mentally fragile, refused to play, watches injured teammates bust their ass in the playoffs, but has no problem cashing paychecks.

Congrats, Doors. For the first time ever you wrote something intelligent enough that I fully agree with you.

:lame:

Idiot, unless the player has an expiring contract (memo to the Pacers on Granger), you don't trade a guy that just missed an entire season.

While I do think Rose should have tried to play this season, if he returns next season with his pre-injury explosiveness, 2012-13 will be all forgotten and you will all flip-flop your opinions like little kids.

Stay classy, Doors.
If I was Chicago I'd try to move him. How can his teammates look at him as a leader when he refused to play?

Trust me, it will not be forgotten. He'll always be remembered as the guy letting the entire city of Chicago down for refusing to play in the playoffs while his other hurt teammates were on the court.

If I'm on that team, I try to get out of town ASAP. Rose deserves ZERO respect.

John Paxson supporting cast signings.

Paxson was lucky we won the #1 pick to get Rose.

I think that this whole thing has been handled pretty poorly all along!! From the allowing it to get out that he had been cleared, to D-Rose acknowledging that it was "mental" to Thibs saying "Maybe the next game" after every game he missed.

Company line from management, to Docs, to D-Rose, to Thibs, should have been "When he's 100%, he'll play. Until then, no comment"!!

Keeping it private would have made the moving him myself and jim_doors believe is needed as well.

Regardless of that aspect or how you feel about him, I agree it was handled badly by more than just rose.

Look, I agree that Rose and the Bulls could have handled this situation better. But with myself actually living near Chicago and actually knowing what I'm talking about with this situation, next year it will be be forgotten as far as his teammates and fans are concerned. And even this season his teammates were rather supportive of him with the media breathing down their necks.

Doors, I know you're jealous that Rose doesn't get the media scrutiny that your butt-buddy LeBron James gets, but unlike James, Rose is humble. He doesn't live on twitter like a lot of professional athletes. He's got 38 tweets to his account or something like that. It's all about the basketball with him.

Rose playing I wiil/I won't be back was a message to Paxson to sign guys that can take the offensive burden off of him.

But hard when you give $16 million max contract to a just barely above average player like Carlos Boozer the Lozzer.

Like the FUCK MIAMI on top of your avi :)

Hate to disappoint you, but this gay avatar along with the status is coming down at the end of the series.:yahoo:

If they weren't publicly supportive, they'd be a bigger issue in my mind than rose is.

That doesn't mean in private they aren't pissed, or in the back of their mind any time they are banged up they won't be thinking "Rose wouldn't be playing right now".

I strongly dislike lebron, but I'm not sure what he has to do with this discussion. Whether teammates admit it or not, it's not something you forget. Probably ever.

And trust me, if Rose is healthy and the Bulls get a Top 4 seed in the East, no one will give a fuck anymore. You'll all then flip flop and say he did the right thing not to risk re-injuring himself in what was a disappointing season for the Bulls in general.

The public likely will. My opinion on this will not change. He fucked his team, plain and simple.

Well, the Bulls lost to some very bad teams this year. With or without Rose, it's inexcusable. People look at their #5 seed and say they had a solid season, but that's more of a reflection of just how weak the east was this year. Already without Deng, they weren't going to beat the Heat. While it would have been nice to see Rose play, he didn't really fuck anyone over. The Bulls made their own bed this year.

Even if he doesn't win them one extra game, he fucked them by telling them they can't trust him to be there when they need him.

Haha.... the bolded is so funny. What's your mile radius limit so we'll know that means you have no idea what the fuck you're talking about when it comes to you posting about other teams??

Of course the home fans will forgive and forget but not the thousands of others who follow the NBA, including the media. People still talk about Pippen when he refused to go in for that last play of the game and that was 20yrs ago. You might have to look that one up though since you're too young to remember when it happened.

I will also admit in other contexts I am also quick to go to extremes with getting rid of people making what I feel are bad enough decisions. I would have fired Mike Shanahan on the spot after watching how he handled RG3's knee vs the Seahawks. After watching the knee get re-shredded, you don't run read option every play the rest of the game.

I understand there are a lot of similarities and I have different views so I'll address the differences in my mind:

1. It is the coach's job to hold a player out if needed (it wasn't IMO). A leader will be on the field unless forcefully stopped.

2. The reinjury happened in game. You don't know the extent of the damage in game. Rose's injury was fully known and he was cleared to play long in advance of the playoffs. If he was reinjured even mildly it's perfectly acceptable to reassess.

3. I didn't advocate benching griffin. I believe they should have adjusted their game plan in-game to rely more on handoffs and his arm. The number of runs on a known to be fairly severe knee injury with a reinjury of unknown extent in a far more physical sport. I also maintain adjusting to a more pro-style plan would give them a better chance to win, both that game (as he was unable to make throws down the stretch in large part due to the beating his knee took), and in the long term.

I may have a quick trigger with certain things, but certain things are in my mind unforgivable.

...And people have forgiven Pippen for it. But unlike yourself, we just don't confuse his level of play with Jordan's.
