But California is getting very strict about it and even moinitors how many days of the year you're in the state and will tax you as a resident even if you have a legal residence elsewhere.

Carolina is the place to go. Taxes aren't horrible, houses are cheap, and Myrtle Beach has more golf courses per capita than anywhere else in the country.

All this, of course, is if you're already a millionaire. If you're an average working guy, the pay is horrible.

Like I said...I'm 100% for bitching about taxes...but when it comes from someone that could easily take care of his problem himself? it just comes off as a bit whiny for my tastes...

The weather and geography (beaches, deserts, mountains within an hour from me) are worth the price. Not a day goes by I don't think how lucky I am to live somewhere like this. I live closer to Palm Springs than LA so for me, the weather is utter perfection here. Warmer than LA but cooler than Palm Springs. Perfect!
