How you guys doing? Thought I'd pop in and talk some baseball. Glad to see Ellis is ok after that play in the 1st.

Carlos Beltran looks like such a fool with those socks. :rolleyes2:

Team had high socks Sunday this past weekend. It's been a weekly occurrence for Jay and Descalso for over a year but Sunday was the first time the whole team got in on it. Made it a giveaway for the kids in attendance and everything. Beltran is on a hit streak so the socks are still around I guess.

Good, man. I wasn't expecting much from Capuano but at least he didn't get rocked too bad. I'll give the Cards the first two games and if the Dodgers score some runs on Sunday they can avoid getting swept with Kershaw on the mound. I can't wait to see what he can do against your lineup.

Yeah, that was a little scary.

It was an awkward play. You could tell Jay didn't know whether to run through or get down. Looked scary for a minute but it appears he just had the wind knocked out of him.

Everytime I see Vin Scully, I can't BELIEVE he's 85 yrs old. He could easily pass for late 60's.

HammerDown, I can't wait for the pitching matchup Sunday. It's been the talk of Cardinal Nation since the game ended Wednesday.

I stepped away since the top of the last inning and assumed Capuano was done. It'll be a major bonus if they get one more inning from him and and can pinch-hit for him in the bottom of the inning.

Oh, it's going to be interesting. If you guys can beat Kershaw, you'll have the respect of everyone.

Left him in too long. That one was on a tee.

I really wonder about Capuano's future with this team.

If Shelby is on we have a great shot, if not the bullpen will have to be really really good. I never say I expect to win a game against Kershaw, dude is too good.

I don't think he has much of a future. He should be included in a trade package to pick up a good 3B.

In other words, the Padres might be eyeing him as a #5 starter along with some prospects for Headley? I don't think the Pads are ready to move him yet while they're still so close but I wouldn't be surprised at all to see the Dodgers make a move to get the 3rd baseman of their future from the Pads, unless Headley is willing to offer a SD discount. Not at all likely as he's surely ready to get paid while he can. If he goes to free agency, he'll be a $100M man.

But I guess that's another thread...

Dee Gordon is an almost total offensive liability. He doesn't even have enough talent to at least work a pitch count.

Just a thought but shouldn't the Padres only move Headley if they can get young talent. You can't build with old talent.

Would it be too much to ask Carl Crawford to show at least a measure of patience at the plate? :gaah:
