True, there were. Not this year, though. There were at least 4 other guards that were more All NBA than Kobe.

Kobe won because of his name, his longevity in the league and one stretch of games that he was scoring alot of points.

There were several other guards that had better all NBA seasons.

Amongst shooting guards, Kobe was:

1st in PPG
1st in RPG
1st in APG
3rd in FG%
5th in SPG

Including point guards, Kobe was still 1st in PPG and RPG.

Kobe had one of his most productive seasons ever. I think he made 1st team on more than just his name.

Just look at the turnaround they had right before and after the ASG. He picked up his team for the first time in my memory.
