My mom had season tickets to Husky stadium before I was born. My first memory of a game there was watching Warren Moon in the early days of Don James football.

To this day, despite having gone to the school, all I care about at UW is the football program. I follow the basketball team a little, but couldn't care less how good/bad any of the other sports teams are. Hate oregon with every fiber in my being and yet they can beat UW in everything outside of football and it means nothing. Of course the hate for Oregon goes way back and has nothing to do with their recent success. Didn't make me hate them more.

Crazy dynamic up here really and I more or less follow the typical NW profile. Cougs hate us as much as we hate Oregon while the Cougs generally don't have anything against the ducks. Huskies don't usually hate the Cougs. I had family and friends that went there. Only thing most NW teams ever agreed on was they all hated USC. As much as we hated Oregon for decades, it was USC you circled every year and got the most pleasure out of beating.

Anyway, my parents still have season tickets to Husky stadium and will be there to break in the new digs this fall. Of course I buy my own, but their tickets will be handed down to me when they either can no longer go or they pass away. Despite their losing seasons of late you don't get good seats without either 'donating' a large sum every year, being a high standing member of the tyee club, or you have very old sets of season tickets. I'll be passing my set off to my kids some day. It's a proud tradition in my family.

USC-Washington in the 80s and 90s were some great games to watch. Always a slugfest.

Great responses!! For my pro teams. I became a Laker fan right about the same time that I became a USC fan!! My aunts in Phoenix used to have season tickets to Suns games and when we were there for a visit during basketball season, they would always take me to a game or 2.

The idea was that I would become a Suns fan!! Problem was that one of the first games they took me to was against the Lakers. I ended up becoming a fan of the wrong team (according to them). They did begrudgingly accept that the Suns were (and still are) my 2nd favorite team.

Not sure when I became a Dodger fan. I've just been a Dodger fan for as long as I can remember. No one in my family were really baseball fans, so being a Dodger fan just kind of happened on it's own.

For pro football, I was a die-hard Rams fan until that snake-eating bitch took them to St. Louis. Now I follow the Buccaneers (became a fan when I lived in Florida for 3 years) and also the Seahawks. No, I'm not a Seahawks fan because of Pete Carroll (but it doesn't hurt).

aight, the truth. My Granddaddy's best friend, from their Airborne days, went to Clemson after they got out of the military. My Grandaddy became a fan, my Aunts and Uncles went to school there ( a few did go to that other school) and they took me to my first game when I was 8 or 9 (1979 or 80) and that was it. My blood turned orange and has been ever since. Growing up a fan of the Tigers through the 80's set the bar high. Needless to say disappointment and frustration have ensued for the last 20 some odd years. Hopefully we are finally righting the ship. GO TIGERS!!

Moved to Omaha in 1969.
Got somewhat familiarized with Nebraska football during their 1970 National Championship season.

In 1971 I spent Saturday afternoons down at the local fishing hole with a couple of school buddies listening to Nebraska football games on an AM transistor radio. Back then we only had 3 TV stations and Nebraska was only on TV 2-3 times a year, so the radio was it most of the time. Nebraska went on to beat Oklahoma 35-31 in the 'Game of the Century' and followed that by beating Bear Bryant's Alabama 38-6 in the Orange Bowl for back-to-back National Championships.

Hooked for life.
