Re: Porcello
If you just take Porcello's 4 other starts, and disregard his bad one....he has a 5.04 ERA. Not all that good. But if he keeps his ERA just south of 5.00 - he should be an acceptable #5 starter, on a team who can score runs.

I did not realize that JV pissed on JL's shoes! He has to work with Santiago and Kelly in the lineup today. Luckily JV is facing the Astros and not the Nationals or Rangers.

As for Houston and Miami.....both teams have a shot at 120 loses. AND....both teams need to check with the Yankees about getting Brennan Boesch and giving him a shot at playing every day. BB might blossom on a team with limited expectations.

Houston is just awful.

I do like how Miggy had a huge night. It would be great to see him start knocking them out of the park with some regularity.

What to do with Smyly and Porcello? I think you have got to move Porecello and get Smyly in. It would be great to shore up the pen. I find it hard to believe a team that needs starting would not give up a young talented reliever!

Smyly 2-0 1.35 ERA 20 IP 12 H 5 BB 21 K 0.85 WHIP Shore up the pen when he's the most consistent pitcher in the pen.

all right now enough is enough. kelly in for Hunter and santiago for jhonny. there is day off on monday and a day off on thursday. Time for JL to stop over managing the lineup. It is getting out of control.

Adrian i agree...the tigers only have 5 games this week.....2 off days.....i can understand avila getting his sunday off, but both peralta and hunter? Didnt hunter just have a day off? And he just had a great game last night. Lets hope we grind out a 2-0 type victory.

Before the series i said tigers HAD to win at least 3, so i do feel good regardless of todays game, but would be nice to get a 4-0 sweep. Does anyone else feel bad for the astros manager? Everytime the camera shows him, hes standing by himself with his arms crossed looking sad? Confused? Lost? Wondering why? Why me?

Peralta had to have a day off....when you are able to move quickly and cover a lot of ground at your position, like Jhonny - you tire out quickly.
