if the GM's are talking about protecting the catchers from collisions...... Maybe they should consider some sort of punitive action against batters that knock the catcher in the noggin on the backswing. Perhaps an extra strike like the extra ball the pitcher gets when he goes to his mouth on the mound.

Hate to sound muzz-ish with negativism.......but this Tiger club is boring to watch. Little movement on the basepaths, hacking at first pitches late in the game. Simply a wait for the big inning club. Sadly, it looks like Tiger fans will have a replay of last years 'ups and downs'. Hopefully the outcome will be the same....but this team runs the razors edge.

Hey muzz is about as negative person I have met on the internet. Thus 'muzz-ish' seems like a valid adjective. And I guess creepy-ish is an adjective for me?

Anyhow...Leyland might consider the idea of moving VMart down in the order. I would actually recommend sitting him for a few games, but with the abundance of sub .200 hitters on the roster....I can't think of a much better replacement. (Maybe Matt Tui?)

I don't like the idea of sitting VMart but I agree that moving him down the order might help take some pressure off him. Being at a couple of games this weekend, I just don't like this team. I still think they are the best in the division and will still root for them but they just don't play baseball the way I was taught. Saying they don't do the little things is a huge understatement. They don't even try. Watching Trout beat out a routine ground ball to Peralta by two steps almost made me throw up. Charge the ball. Move your damn feet. My son is five and their team has better baserunning skills. I actually like Miggy at third. He doesn't have good (any) range but his hands are good. Watching the look on Fister's face today was priceless. Total dispair.

Looking back a few years, maybe bringing in D-Train wasn't as bad as once seemed (not talking about extending him though). Didn't realize this before:

MLB.com's Lyle Spencer writes that Miguel Cabrera was nearly traded to the Angels prior to the 2007 trade that sent him to the Tigers. Cabrera himself told Spencer that he thought he was being traded to Anaheim. The Angels and Marlins discussed Ervin Santana and Joe Saunders in the deal as well as young infielders Howie Kendrick and Brandon Wood. Ultimately, Cabrera said that he thinks he wound up in Detroit because the Tigers were more willing to take on Dontrelle Willis and his $7MM salary.

My first post. Just checking it out. Thanks for invite muzz. Couldnt get my pics to work on here tho. I guess every image i found was too big? Tigers are looking bad right now. Team needs to learn how to bunt and move runners up when needed. So sick of DP's and K's already.
