So then I wonder what Saban's motivation was, especially considering there'd be obvious negative PR?
My boss offered me a job & I took it. I didn't perform to the companies expectations. I got fired & they hired someone else to fill my position.
Real life sucks.
All the distracting attention will potentially lead this kid onto the wrong track.
I heard a statement on the radio this morining about the deal, and I agreed with it. It may have been Colin Cowherd. Something like, "Do you ever look back at those kids who excelled when they were young only to fizzle out once everyone else catches up to them?" Yeah this kid may be good but he's playing with other kids, let's see what happens when the other kids growth spurt's catch up to him.
I remember a few guys who were cocky as hell in Jr.High. They had great stats and were bigger. But things changed in High School once everyone else caught up to them, and they dropped out of football because they were getting lit up to bad.
I was like that in elementary and middle school, nobody wanted to fight me then..lol. By high school everyone else grew bigger than me and I was the small one. I wasn't a douchbag when I was bigger than everyone, so it wasn't a big deal for me.
Some people don't live in real life brah, nothing we can do but shake our heads.
The idea that you should continue to get a free college education when you aren't contributing anything at all is asinine.
How can you be a man and expect shit to be given to you? Go to a school that you can actually contribute to in return for your education. Because at this point, you probably ain't going to the NFL, so why not go somewhere that you can actually PLAY football, and EARN your education.
Seriously, do you all believe this BS you spout? You give a kid a scholly to play football........then oversign and bring in more kids than you can actually take - so you are in essence committing FRAUD. THEN you kick the kids not at the top out of the program.
Don't act like they just weren't good enough. Saban and every other coach that oversigns PURPOSELY PLANS to screw kids over like this.
Seriously, get outta here with that BS
They see who fucking sucks and who doesn't, that's why they know who they can sign and you don't.
It's a 1 goddamn year scholly, if you suck ass you deserve to get the boot. And if you or anyone else thinks that a kid should be able to sit his fat ass on the bench at #9 on the depth chart, and play with his dick for 4 years, then you can fuck off because your opinion is shit.
If Saban guaranteed every recruit that they'd come in and be a star, then I'd have a problem with it, but he doesn't. He lets every recruit know the possibilities, and what they have a chance at if they work hard and EARN it. Many recruits praise him for this.
Saban wasn't even the first to offer the kid. He'll be in the class of 2017.
What I find funny is that there's no guarantee the kid even continues to play FB, or is any good,.

This is ridiculous. There should be an age limit.
