So here is the story.

I grew up a Penn State football fan. I wasn't as into them as most of you seem to be into your teams but I did follow them and watched when I could.

Once the scandal came out it made me annoyed to the point that I didn't want to follow them anymore. So I stopped.

I love watching college football but I am lost without having a team to follow and root for.

So I am asking for suggestions.

It is real difficult to start liking a team at this stage of the game.

I do have some criteria.
Games need to be televised
Team needs to be in a good conference
Record never matters although I would have a hard time rooting for a team that has won alot (i.e. Alabama).

I was leaning towards BC. I know they are not good but they are in the ACC and that is a decent conference and they play within driving distance so I could see them play when I could.

Pitch your team

Same with Maryland, but I think Rutgers has a better chance of being competitive in CFB.

Shiano had Rutgers on a roll recruiting wise before he took the Tampa Bay job. The talent he was bringing in still shows.
Whether the new HC can keep the momentum remains to be seen.

Would be weird to root against PSU though.

Have you tried team SEC? Whoever is doing well...just claim them. But if you are into school loyalty, then it's probably not your choice then.

I watched a Spiller highlight reel right after he was drafted and bought a spiller jersey as soon as it was available. Only problem was that he changed his number since then.

You could opt for Syracuse who's moving to the ACC in 2014, but who knows if that conference will stay together and Rutgers will get more exposure (and cash influx) through BTN.

You could cheer for Iowa??? They are good about every other year, average every other year so no need to feel like a bandwagon fan. Also the BEST part is that since Iowa hasnt changed their offensive game plan in like 15 years you can go YEARS without watching a game and still be able to see all the same plays when you get back around to watching a game.
