Any chance if this comes true? I say very good odds he jumps to NFL if Alabama wins the national title. If they lose I could see him coming back because they will probably be favorites to go again next year.

IF he does go, who is Alabama's next HC? Do they just promote Kirby Smart? Or do they go out there and hire a big name?

While I'm pretty sure he won't be leaving, I think Smart would be the guy. He knows the system, he's been with Saban for years, and he'd be the best bet to keep things how they are currently.

A new outside coach would be trying to basically fix something that ain't broke, and i dont think we want that. I dont want a new system when this one is the best in the biz.

I want this to happen desperately. But why would he leave w/ 3 NCs in 4 yrs. It is not like he needs to prove something at next level. He has already proved he could eventually be successful in NFL. Does he really care about getting a SB? I think he stays, but hoping he leaves.

I read somthing about that, Saban wanting another shot. If he is cocky/confident/competitive in his abilities and still wants to prove to himself and others than he can do it at the next level. He may just be r

That being said, I can't see him leaving he's got a good set up. The money, glory and power, why leave?

There's already been talk that Kelly could end up with the Eagles.:D:

I would like to see Dooley have a second opportunity to coach in the SEC, at Alabama.

The rumor is Saban to Cleveland......which I'll believe ONLY after he's actually been there a few years and I'm convinced it's not a hoax.

That dude isn't leaving Bama for a crap job like that, no matter what it pays. NOBODY willingly goes to Cleveland unless they have no other options.

Saban has been at Alabama for a while, he can't ever stand to stay put for long, it will have to be a job other than Cleveland though.

One reason is Saban could be really tired of how spread offenses are starting to take over college football.

if he leaves Smart is the guy, when things are working well promoting within the system is always the way to go

Saban has said he's happy here and isn't going anywhere.

“I don’t know where all this stuff [about the NFL] comes from. When I say I’m looking for the next challenge, it’s the next challenge here and the next challenge with our team next year here. This is where we want to be and what we’re happy doing.”
-Alabama Head Coach Nick Saban

Naturally nobody believes him which he also commented on.

“It’s to the point now that anything you say about this, nobody believes. So it’s almost like, ‘What the hell?’”

If he goes he goes and deserves nothing but love and respect for what he's done here and I'd wish him luck in whatever he does. Having said that, I believe he'll stay until he says otherwise seeing as how he's already stated that he hated the way leaving Miami went down and wished he'd did it differently.

OD makes one of these threads about every 2 weeks.

He even made one speculating that Gruden would be the next HC at Nebraska. :L :L :L

Saban will go to the NFL one day, but only when a playoff caliber team comes calling. He isn't going to a dumpster fire team like Miami again or Cleveland.

If San Diego comes calling there's a chance he would leave for them
