What is the blooper at 0:22? Calling him a shooter and the ball going around and in? I don't get it.

And how bad are NBA players at half-court (or farther) shots. That's the only shot I could get closer than some of them. (Note: some.) Yes, even when it's instantaneous. No one has a good percentage at half-court shots, but I can get them closer than most of what I've seen. Check out 2:17. Oy vey.

The LeBron and Durant tackling of the fan was cool. Not individually, just that both did it (obviously, Durant was imitating LeBron as a joke).

I feel bad for him. He's only had one bad season and he's improved both years. But was this a move to keep Chris Paul? Who fills in for him? Was he bad with players?

Vinny Del ***** out as Los Angeles Clippers coach

Source: Chris Paul upset with Los Angeles Clippers, could factor into impending free agency - ESPN Los Angeles

Why say this?:

Sterling told the Times that Del ***** "is a wonderful man" and that he's "sad about the whole thing."

Sterling was asked by the Times if Del ***** was fired "just to hang on to Chris Paul."

Sterling said: "I always want to be honest and not say anything that is not true. So I'd rather not say anything. But you know, the coach did a really good job. I think he did. And I liked working with him. There are just factors that make life very complicated and very challenging."

The Times then asked Sterling if it was "off base" to say the "players are now calling the shots."

"No, you're not off base," Sterling said. "This is a players' league, and, unfortunately, if you want to win, you have to make the players happy."

Sterling later told the Times, "If you have special players, and special players think that they know the best opportunity to win, you have to support them."

Also:

One source added that Paul is also steering clear of the Clippers' search for a new coach. The Clippers have a short list of current ESPN NBA analyst Jeff Van Gundy, Brian Shaw and Byron Scott, according to a source. They are also considering asking the Nuggets for permission to interview coach George Karl, a source confirmed. Alvin Gentry and Nate McMillan are also candidates, a source told ESPNLosAngeles.com.

------

Why would Denver grant permission for them to interview George Karl? Reciprocity? Age/health? Didn't he just win the Coach of the Year award? Would they buy out his contract and pay him, if they get him? Or would Karl have to buy himself out and then move?

Man I'm still really enjoying the Pacers. If they lose tonight, I will be done watching bb for the summer. I'm just not into reruns.

I wish it were anyone else good against the Heat. If the Heat win, yeah, two-peat (repeat). If the Spurs win, even with less contribution than ever from Duncan, it'll be more press for his as the "best PF" when he's a scoring center. I don't care how you're used. He started that way because Robinson was the center. Robinson averaged more points and similar rebounds and was a center. More than Duncan until Duncan came and took it from him. Less points and similar rebounds and you're a PF? Height and blocks and defense is my key. Malone averaged more as a PF.

I'm sure Duncan did have more PF-like shots than Robinson, etc. but he'll always be a center to me.

There will be even more press about Tony Parker as a top PG, and Leonard as a rising star with defense.

If Ginobili manages to have a good series, then there will be more press about where he ranks among SGs.

Then, there will be conversation about that tall guy's defense.

Kidd's defense stopped being good in New Jersey. I don't know what day that was.

Stockton was still a good defender on his last day.

Okay, I'm going to say F'ing bastard bitch ass Heat.

I don't see the Heat as a bitch ass.

Their teamwork, especially on defense, is admirable. Not only that, but they showed good defense from the beginning of their formation, just like the recent Celtics.

To be able to click defensively that quickly shows good teammate qualities, not a team that is not trying hard, or a team that isn't willing to work hard. They're not underachievers, they're achievers.

A bitch ass team would be underachievers who point fingers at each other.

JVG on NBA coaching decisions:

"Detroit Pistons basketball slogan: When the going gets tough, we fire the coach," Van Gundy said. "It's unbelievable. It's unbelievable. You know what surprises me, Chris? These new owners in Detroit have to be exceedingly bright to have made as much money as they have. And to be duped again that your G.M. tells you that the roster is good and the coach is bad ... what was the problem with Michael Curry? What was John Kuester? Now Lawrence. They run through coaches and they haven't even begun to address their problem. They have very little talent and very little basketball character. You combine that, you're going to be in a long rebuild.

"I'm just surprised that when everybody acknowledges it's a player's league – everybody would agree with that – then the most important player or person in any organization is the person that picks the players. But we don't, as organizations, examine them. We just take the easy way out time and time again. You lose, the G.M. convinces the owner 'We got good players. It's the coach's fault.' We fire the coach; we bring a new coach in; we continue to lose. We fire that coach, saying that 'We have better players.' It just goes on and on. It's typical and I can't believe that the Detroit owners fell for it. I just can't believe it."

It's possible that Vinny's exit interview, blaming the players for not having him rehired, made Paul angry, not Sterling's interview.

I was 4 beers in when I penned that. Bitch ass might not be right. They are just too slick for me. Arrogance is bitch ass when a team can't pull it off. They won the series. They won a title last year. I just don't like 'slick' teams. A bunch of barnacles clinging on to Lebron's ship. Just like Fisher did with Kobe.
