After coming up 4 yards short of a National Championship bid??? Losing to the #2 team in the country to boot......

Then of course, Nebraska has the most embarrassing showing of the season out of any team, and they only drop from #12 to #16???

Sounds like money had a say in this to me....

Georgia should be 3rd because they beat Florida, lost to Bama and was blown out by USC.... and didn't play anyone else noteworthy?

There are several teams more worthy of 3rd place.

Their was a look of shenanigans to the BCS this year. How did NIU poll 16th in the coaches, 16th in the Harris and 19th in the computers, but end up 15th in the BCS?

That does sound fishy.

Well, based on that logic they should have never been #3 to begin with.....

This is just common sense: If you are #3 and you lose at the very last second to #2..........you don't drop to #7.

I agree with both. If they were deserving of #3, they shouldn't have dropped that far.

I posted about UGA wrongfully moving to third and was called a troll. It happened 100% because of the media bias wanting to ensure the SEC Champ went to the NCG. Complete bullshit. There are a couple teams out there who can give ND a challenge.

I always laughed at the bias comments before, but it was very apparent this season.

In the middle of the season I didn't think Georgia was a great team......

Towards the end of the season, however, I thought they were playing up there with the best of them....

En sech

And now they are going to kick the piss out of my team, and I want them to be ranked higher so it looks more justified

Sadly, I don't see Nebraska being able to hang with them... but I'll be drinking the corn juice!

It was because Boise State was 15th in the coaches and Harris, but 31st on computers.

16-16-19 coming up at 15th isn't really that unusual for equally weighted polls. You'll be ranked close, but not necessarily at your average poll. Take this for example:

Team A 1 1 6
Team B 4 3 1
Team C 3 2 2

In that example, assuming no tie rankings, Team C is actually ranked number one (not just of the three teams above, but of all teams) even though it averages out to a ranking of 2.333. It's not about what you score in the individual poll but about how you average out - outlying scores (like Boise's 31 in the computers) really hurt/help your chances.

I guess the Voters noticed how dirty georgia played and how poorly officiated the game was and decided georgia didn't deserve to stay top 5.

because they lost an extra game while other teams got to sit at home risk free

~gatorchip :D

LSU forced to play two difficult xconference games
ATM forced to play difficult xconference game
USC forced to play difficult xconference game
UF forced to play two difficult xconference games
UGA and Bama FINALLY forced to play just one difficult xconference game and whine about having to take a "risk" over the others.

Maybe ATM and LSU should be forced to play kentucky/Tennessee and UF be forced to play Auburn this season... that'll even things out.

You see this an awful lot in football. People catching balls too far from the sideline/goal line/line to gain (in college) to stop the clock, as opposed to intentionally dropping them and giving their team a chance. I imagine most of it is just habit and not having time to think of what the smart play is, but I think it'd be pretty cool to see a guy just knock the ball down.

The other thing I'd like to see is a running back forced 10 yards behind the line of scrimmage to throw the ball away, but that won't happen either.

This guy is a WR. His thought process is to catch that ball, turn and run into the endzone, and win that game. Unfortunately he slips, and if he hadn't slipped he would've been tackled.

Start at 6:45 to see that play.

Yup, like Matt Schaub yesterday catching a batted ball and then falling down. Lost 6 yards on the play and should just knock it down.
