Damn man. The guy states he knew nothing of his firing, didn't expect it at all. Well, bud. When you go 4-25 or something and your team could lose to Denver High School, you should have known something was coming. Good Riddance Colorado. Good riddance.

Colorado might have had the worst team in the 6 BCS conferences. Kansas, South Florida, Illinois, Boston College, and Kentucky were probably the worst in their respective conferences, but I think all of them could have beaten Colorado.

Embree deserved to be fired......but Colorado handled this very poorly. They don't look any better for how they treated him, and they have a job opening that nobody wants. They don't commit to the program or really support it at all.

Someone tweeted out that Embree bought water (why are you buying water? but ok) for all the coaches everyday. (No drinking fountains at your practice facility?) Anyways, apparently the athletic department never refunded him what he bought so that was all out of pocket.

But goes to show you where CU's head is at with their football program, they don't give a damn. WTF happened with that mentality? CU use to produce pretty solid teams and had a solid program.

Also heard that there were about 5 coaches willing to resign if it meant Embree could keep his job.

Their entire AD is a joke right now. They were nearly going to have to end most of their sports programs because they were broke. Its like they just developed this don't care attitude and never got over it.

I'm not sure that people really understand where the talent level was for this team when Embree arrived in Boulder. Hawkins left CU with with no real talent and damaged CU's relationship with instate schools for recruiting. He had only 1 real recruiting class and wasn't afford time to develop them. Moving to the offense happy PAC-12 really hurt them and reveled just how poor the talent was in Colorado. Embree wasn't given a fair shot to turn the program around and it is shocking that CU would do this to one of their Alumni. He deserved more time regardless of the record unless he was doing things the wrong way of the field. He mastered the off the field issues and was on the right path to get the on field issues turned around as well. StateoftheSport.com

It's completely inexcusable to lose that amount of games at ANY school. Black or white.

He was not good enough. Period.

It's not just how many games he lost, it's the way he lost them.

They weren't even competitive. At some point it becomes close to impossible for a staff to recruit when you're losing like that.

I don't know if he lost his players but I find it very hard to believe he didn't.

This isn't a race issue and he was classless for bringing it up.

He never brought up race. He was asked about race and answered the questions, but he wasn't the one to initiate that mess. Also, He never lost his players. He had a large group of players in the press conference supporting him and all the comments from CU players after the fact was nothing but positive. The only classless actions in this mess are the actions of the administration. You should read the Denver Post articles about this whole ordeal, especially the Kiszla article from today.

Ah. I remember what it was like to be young and naive. Those were the days.

I went to a CU game this season. Very nice campus. Great beer at the tailgate. Stadium pretty shitty, but the setting is awesome.

I must say though, I'm not impressed with PAC12 football. The game on the field was very poor.
