I'm from Chicago, which is Notre Dame's power base, and I think they are going to run into a demographic problem at some point. They're eventually going to be like any other big college football team, where their fans are alumni and maybe people from the area, because the current generation isn't growing up to see them be anything special. And younger people move around today a lot more than a generation or two ago, so you won't have these solid Irish neighborhoods where everybody is an ND fan.

Cause independence is freaking great. It ensures we have national recruiting and can schedule who we went when we want. It's restricted now by the ACC but to fully join would be a horrible mistake.
