Top 10 teams? I don't see it.

There isn't much to base things off of at this point. VaTech is usually pretty decent. UCLA beat Nebraska, so I just interchanged them. TCU I've had in my poll since the beginning pretty high and they just moved up because of other teams losing. They probably are too high, but it's the beginning of the year. If they don't belong in there, they'll lose and then fall out.

Good one.

I am at a loss after about number 5. I tied to base it off of THIS years performance as opposed to my expectations ( hence NW being so high, only team to beat 2 AQ teams and a road win to boot. UCLA, Iowa State being ranked etc). If I were to do a top 25 based on how I think the year would finish itd look alot different. LOL.

Yeah but if you are basing a poll in part off of actual results I am not sure how you couldnt rank them. Same for some of the other teams on my list.

Ok, I have all the recent updates. Also I can understand ranking Georgia high because that win at Mizzou was huge. On the BMOC thread of ESPN, they had Georgia at 2. This very well could be UGA's year, well that is if they can get past the Vols :).

What about Arizona State then, they aint even ranked and they have probably been the most impressive team so far (that aint Alabama).

Arizona State? The team that beat Northern Arizona and Illinois has the second best resume?

Also it is the same story every year for the Pac12. They beat a top 25 team and then turn around and lose to a mid-major or FCS team and finish the season 6-7 with an embarassing bowl loss.

How is that worse than Bowling Green and Texas A&M? Or NCState and Georgia State? Or Duke and San Jose State? Or Savannah State and Murray State?

ASU won those games
63-6
45-14

Uhhh, I think you are taking this SEC fandom a little too far...

The Pac 12 did not go 6-7 last year with a Bowl Loss...
Arizona State did...

I don't know. Haven't seen ASU play but K-State has been the most impressive to me. OU has a bye week to get their shit together before they play them, if not it could an OU loss in Norman.

USCDoom,

Ever year UCLA, Arizona, Arizona State, Cal, or some team or collection of teams will win some huge home upset and we put them in the poll then the falling week they lose to San Diego State, Sacramento State, or some nobody. Then they will have a losing record in conference and make a low tier bowl where they will lose to Air Force or Iowa State or some nobody.

I know USC and Oregon do not fit that bill. Chances are Illinois is a garbage team and both Wisconsin and Nebraska have issues and are not good teams right now (kind of like Arkansas in the SEC was overrated garbage - I never initially had them in any preseason top ten).

Big12 arguable has 3 top 10 teams Sooner in OU, KSU, and WVU. I also think Texas has a decent team but we will find out this weekend when they play Ole Miss.

OU hasn't looked like a top 10 team. Honestly the offense just has too many young players and the pass blocking isn't getting it done. What's even worse is we are one injury away on the O-line to not even being a top 50 team probably.

That is because, every year Pac 12 schools play Tough OOC games, its bound to happen, an average team beats and overrated team.

But please, pray tell, when the Hell Arizona or ASU ever won a Big OOC game early and then was ranked only to lose?

UCLA did it once, when they beat Texas, and that is the One time you are saying happens every year, so please tell us when it has happened to anyone other than UCLA.

ASsU needs to prove themselves against real competition....I've seen them pull this early season gimmick too many times.
