The premise of this thread is asinine. Current players, students, alums and other fans haven't victimized anyone. I agree that those who did, or facilitated or covered it up, should be taken out and shot.

But rooting against the team and the school, because of the Sandusky scandal, is one of the smaller-minded things I've seen on the Hoop in a while.

And I have no connection to Penn State, by the way. I'm a Buckeyes fan.

it is the way people will see it. I guarantee that more then half of CFB fans will be rooting against PSU this year and probably for years to come.

Also, is it also not administration fault for many of the things that went on there and there are still plenty of that admin team left.

There isn't anything wrong with rooting against Penn State because of the scandal still. Sure the program got hit hard and they're trying to improve their image, but that doesn't mean they're saints yet. It'll be a couple years, if not a decade before people really start to forgive and forget in a realistic view.

Like I said, as ridiculous as this thread is, for those of us who understand college football and that these kids, and coaches on this team have nothing to do with the scandal-- the rest of the non-college football world will be routing against them.

i have a lot of respect for the kids that stayed with the program. i actually find myself rooting for them rather than against them. any of those players could have gone somewhere else. instead, they stuck with their commitment despite the sanctions.
