Not a fan of using our catchers at DH. Calling up JW or Whitey instead of Christian would have made more sense...

This new pitcher is unfamiliar territory. Might take a turn through the lineup to get to him. I do like Panda's free swinging ways against this guy

edit: ummm nevermind :D

Busty Poser !!!!

Good to see us jump on this guy early. Now I'd like to see often.

Not sure why this is an issue. We still have the option of PHing for Posey if necessary (though it would be hard to imagine doing this in any scenario) and putting HecSan in at C, just as if he came off the bench.

And HecSan's splits are virtually identical from either side of the plate.

Glad CSN Bay Area showed that Brenly 4-error clip. No one commented yesterday when I made the comment, and I was beginning to think it didn't happen. But I was at that game when he made those errors at 3B so I know it happened.

Existential dilemma?

LOL. Exactly. The two best regular season games of my youth were that game and the Dave Dravecky comeback game. I still have pics (blurry and far away as they are) of Dravecky's game so I know that happened. All I have of the Brenly game are a few fleeting memories.

Top third of the order:

Blanco 3-30 .100
Riot 4-18 .222
Leche 1-15 .067

Not exactly table setting...

The lads are making the rookie work. 78 pitches through four. Might be able to get to him in the fifth and into the bullpen.

Leave it to A'ss fans to be the only fans annoying enough to bring vuvuzelas to the park. Facking tools.

I wanted to say something (I was in general admission that day!) but we both know how Brenly redeemed himself and when Moss came up as the tying run...I just didn't want the similarities to continue.

Brenly's homer went deep into LF too

Shoot out between England and Italy starting now.

It could be such a better sport if they just tweaked a few rules to enhance scoring, IMHO:

1) Increase the size of the goal - like 1 meter wider or 1/2 meter taller
2) Limit the area where the goalkeeper can use his hands to the goal area only, not the penalty area
3) Loosen the offsides rule, or even eliminate it altogether
4) Play with 10 or even 9 players, instead of 11.

Deciding critical games by a shootout is like deciding the World Series with a home run derby contest, or deciding the NBA finals with a game of H-O-R-S-E.

Cain wins the long battle with Smith. Heh!

I loved hearing the boos cascade down from the upper decks as Cain walked off the mound. Very little makes me happier than A'ss fans who are pissed off because their team got robbed. I long for the day when that team is in Portland.
