They're pitching Ross too many innings too early IMO.

Why has Adams been used so little so far?

Josh whiffed at two pitches that AB that he usually crushes. Looks like his timing was a little off there.

They've definitely used Ogando too much. I think too much focus gets put on each of these guys having an assigned role, doing the "we'll only put him in during the __ inning if we have a lead" crap instead of just spreading the work evenly and letting these guys throw. This is why I don't even agree with the closer title because it allows guys like Nathan to get paid much more than they're worth. I'd be perfectly fine with closer by committee. So far our entire BP has been great and they've all been pretty much interchangeable. The only one I'm skeptical about is Lowe, but even he's been pretty solid.

I agree Ogando and IMO Ross is getting overused.

Ross being overused is somewhat expected since he's our only lefty, but so far he's been anything but a loogy. He looks pretty good against anyone. I'd like to see Martin Perez get called up at some point this year to see what he can do.

Nice to see Nathan in beast mode. Hopefully it continues. I'm assuming he wouldn't be available tomorrow so I assume Adams would be the closer.

It's the multiple inning outings that are adding up.

Behind Ross ... TEX LHP options in my opinion are pretty thin.

Perez isn't pitching good enough to get any earlier call up consideration right now until September if then. If he makes it to the 25man before then it will have to be due to an injury or to just make a spot start. If TEX is short an arm in the bullpen.

Barret Loux and Justin Grimm for Frisco may be the top TEX farm SPs more worthy of consideration for September spots than either Perez or Neil Ramirez.

Perez has had his struggles but a move to the bigs where he can work with the Maddux's and start off as a loogy might be just what he needs so he can work his way into the rotation just like Holland, Harrison, CJ, and Nefty did. He's still our top pitching prospect and the best future replacement for Colby unless a trade is made.

Kasey Kiker was the top prospect once too.

Who do you move off the TEX staff to make room for Perez to be just a LOOGY?

I see Feldman, Ogando, and Ross in front of Perez competing for a spot that Lewis might vacate. Also in front of Perez command-wise is Loux and Grimm. I don't see TEX making a trade given the strength of its staff down through AA to fill a #3 spot.

If that's the case then Perez could take one of their spots, too easy. I don't really know anything about Loux or Grimm.

"Too easy" ??? Again ... who do you demote or release off the 25man to make room for Perez to be a LOOGY. He has been inconsistent in 2012 and isn't close to being ML ready.

Anyone who isn't getting Scott Lucas' daily farm report email ... ought to visit Jamey's site and sign up for it.

The thing is he's not throwing a lot of pitches. I want to see what he does the second time through a line up. The kid can pitch and right now he is getting valuable experience.

Perez hasn't mastered AAA or his command yet.

What site is that? Iam really interested in the prospects that the Rangers have. I am trying to follow the progress of J.Profar, C.Grayson, B.Loux and N.Ramirez

Newberg Report: The Newberg Report

Daily Farm Report links there or you can sign up for email both Jamey's daily Newberg Report posts and Scott Lucas's Farm Report. Scott is down in Round Rock so sees all the AAA action there.

With Astros starting RHP Lucas Harrell ... means TEX will probably start Murphy instead of Gentry.

But with TEX starting Holland means whatever RH hitting options Astros have will be in the lineup. Would rather have Gentry/Hamilton covering the LF-CF gap than Hamilton having to cover it himself.

Probably also means YT starts behind the plate and MY at 1b again while Napoli, Moreland, and Gentry have to wait around for a chance to get into the game late.

I hate NL cities.
