well ... espn is in the sports and sports-news business ... and when college football fanatics have no news to talk about, they'll be given something to talk about.

yeah .. and then comes the "it's gonna happen next year now" shit ... and how is oliver luck such a genius? the difference between WVU and VT is that WVU had NO other options ... NONE ... my 9-yr old son could've made THAT business decision. And to my knowledge, you can continue to talk about your pie-in-the-sky dollar figures but I STILL haven't seen where the contract has been signed by the BOG ... so until that happens, it's all just non-guaranteed funny money. why hasn't it been signed bone?? or provide a link confirming that it has.

All of my info indicated 2014 to be the date when most of the movement would occur but also said that a lot of the conferences would make deals to try and hedge against it.

no idea...the only thing ive read is that they are waiting to see who they get to join them and going to wait as long as possible before actually signing a legal contract

and 42 pretty much has it...next year will probably be when it all goes down(expansion in general...)

Big 12 consultant Chuck Neinas stressed Sunday that the deal is not quite done yet and would only be finalized after a 13-year, $2.6 billion media rights [TV] extension with Fox and ESPN.

20 mil a year for tier1/2......still can make 3rd tier$$$$ and that number is/was expected to go up depending on the expansion targets

well today is the deadline and i will be FUCKING SHOCKED if anything happens........next year i guess.....

wonder what caused it to fall apart fsu/clemson cold feet, the wanting to wait until ND said which/if conference they were going to or if it was all fake(but everyone was getting stuff ,even 46 thought it was gonna happen for a little bit)

well at least it was something to talk about during off-season

Yeah and from all accounts, I don't see ANY incentive for Notre Dame to join a conference ... at all ... and that was obviously one of the catalysts that could have set chaos in motion. I still think that Notre Dame eventually ends up with the ACC, in SOME capacity (non-football with some agreement to play X number of teams in football). I'm sure the conversation will be heating back up by the end of the season .. but it doesn't sound like Clemson has intentions on going anywhere. If VT can start finishing in the bowl/big games and Clemson/FSU start living up to the hype, the ACC's top tier could eventually be as good as just about any other conference (maybe not the SEC at this point).

theDudeofWV: The Big 12 and FSU have been engaged in formal talks for at least the last 4 weeks.
theDudeofWV: Louisville, was the last candidate standing for #12.
theDudeofWV: I realize that many who know the FSU program think it unlikely that FSU would move without a partner from the ACC.
theDudeofWV: Yet it was made clear to me that FSU has made the decision to leave the ACC regardless of who was selected for #12.
theDudeofWV: The has been a deterioration of the relationship between FSU & the ACC that began 2 years ago.
theDudeofWV: FSU was unhappy with the leadership of the ACC and the conferences failure to position itself in a football dominated landscape.
theDudeofWV: FSU is concerned about the commitment of the majority of ACC schools to football & the impact that lack of commitment
theDudeofWV: will have on revenues especially considering a 9 game conf. schedule & playoff shares.
theDudeofWV: FSU was also adamantly opposed to the ACC's offer to ND to bring the Irish into the league as a partial member.
theDudeofWV: FSU believes the deal offered ND wold not significantly improve the ACC's TV revenues & would actually reduce the shares of full members.
theDudeofWV: FSU was also upset that the ACC failed to consider their input in the ND offer and blatantly ignored FSU's advisements.
theDudeofWV: To summarize. The Big 12 is waiting on the numbers from CCG talks with potential sponsors before deciding to offer FSU & UL.
theDudeofWV: Both FSU & UL have made it clear to the Big 12 they both would accept membership in the Big 12 should the offer come.
theDudeofWV: TV Network (ESPN) not willing to give B12 the value for the addition of FSU the B12's valuation says they should.
theDudeofWV: It comes down to the money the B12 would receive from the CCG. Will expansion pay enough to justify any additions.
theDudeofWV: That's all I have. I've waited over a week to confirm the information before sharing it.

anything 46???
