I think Posey should have held on to the ball Affeldt wasn't there

Even though Belt had the Luckiest 2 RBI's of his life , I think Bochy needed to keep Pill as the PH , He was the only other guy that could play 2nd , or worst case , Pill to 3rd , Panda to 2nd

Burriss is looking pretty good right now , need Craw to step up a little

Bochy needs to give Belt a real shot at taking the 1B job , let Huff Backup

This.

Belt has had a good last week coming off the bench. He's earned it, while Huff has just flat out shit the bed.

Posey was right to try to make the play - it would have been close if the throw was accurate.

This is a good time to phase Huff out. Huff need to prove he deserves the job, and right now he ain't doing it.

Posey's immediate take:

Hairston took out Posey's leg with his slide. No wonder Posey was livid.

Looking at the replay, Hairston touches home with his right hand/arm, and maybe even his right knee. If that isn't a legal slide, then the rules are F'd up.

If the tables were turned, and one of our guys slides like that into the Mets' catcher, we'd be praising him.

Just saying, just being honest.

Wait...

Huff at 2B?

Wtf?

Theriot still out. Crawdad lifted for PH in the 9th. Burriss to SS, Huff moved from 1B to 2B. Belt to 1B. It's a game worth watching again just to see the utter ineptness of Huff.

No. Not at all. The two observations that it was a hard-nosed play and we're pissed that we lost are separate and distinct.

I got to hand it to you, you're so strident in your "objectivity".

Thank you. It's something I strive for.

Is there something wrong with that?

What is the grammatical function of "we're pissed that we lost" then? I'm mean, it is one sentence.

Only when you miss the mark on what others are saying, and then presume to tell them how they would react in any given situation.

In our anger of losing sometimes it is tempting to blame others, even when it is not their fault, and indeed it may be our own.

It's not much of a presumption to say we would be cheering at one of our players making a legal play that resulted in a satisfying win.

You would be cheering in such a situation, wouldn't you?

Then you were implying a causal relationship. Hence the appropriateness of my original reply. And for the record, it's April, and this ain't no one's first rodeo. No one on this thread expressed anything other than amusement about the loss itself.
