Joe Nathan sucks. Of course he hasn't been any good for awhile now and post-surgery it was amazingly stupid to pay a washed up oldie 7 mil to be your closer. He won't make it to the all-star break. Hope Adams can do the job. For all of JD's good moves, this one is a real stinker. Nathan is garbage. Wait till he faces a team that can actually hit the baseball.

No, he just had a bad day. Didn't have the same stuff as he had yesterday. It happens. Nobody is going to be perfect for an entire season. Last time checked the Rangers are going to lose 55-60 games this year.

Nobody is saying all is lost, sheesh. But the fact is Nathan is 0-2 one week into the season and we should be 6-0. That should raise some alarms. Not saying he should retire or be knocked down to Koji's level on the totem pole, but I think Wash has to be at least considering making the move to Adams if Nathan has any more struggles in the near future.

If it makes any of you feel better, Lincecum just got lit up for the 2nd straight week and the Giants are on their way to 1-4. They must be going crazy over on the Giants board.

I'm not sure what games you have been watching, but both of our losses this year were 100% Nathan's doing. That's 100% of them being completely his fault. In my book that's not a real good track record. I would rather have anyone else in our bull pen closing based on what I have seen of Nathan thus far.

I've been watching every game he's pitched in, he's looked very good except tonight, mixing his pitches well with excellent movement

He stunk tonight I admit that, and his other loss was due to one mistake pitch, guy happened to put a good swing on it

I have no clue, he certainly looks a lot better this year than last for us

3 in 25.2 innings isn't bad at all. I remember one of them was in his first or second game too. Then he went on a tear and had something like 13 straight scoreless innings.

Good game Rangers fans. Was pretty surprised the M's came back to win this one. The season is still early though and while blown 9th inning saves stink (I've seen plenty) the Rangers are still damn good and I fully expect them to win the division again. You guys will be watching exciting baseball from September on, while the M's season will most likely be over by July, so things could definitely be worse. A pretty sad tidbit, Seattle has matched their win total in Texas from all of last season. That's some epic futility right there.

Seeing as I'm off tomorrow and it's an early game, I might join in on the gdt if you guys don't mind. Texas is pretty much the only team the M's ever play that have fans on here you can talk baseball with.

Yes. I realized this a LONG time ago...

That said, offense deserves some blame for tonights loss as well. Too many chances to add a run here or there. Nathan shouldnt have even been on the field in the 9th.

Slightly worried about Nathan...but not going for his head just yet either. He's had good stuff so far... just could not command his pitches last night. Most were strikes...but badddd strikes.

Both losses have been 4-3 O_O
