Oh I know I am in the minority, but I been saying it since he came into the league.
As long as the 1st thing you think about is legs/running when talking of your QB. You will fail in the postseason. It has come true every year so far. Baltimore has probably had the better team in all their postseason losses.
Dont have to debate it. I know I am the only thinking like this. (Same as Vick)
but every year I am vindicated.

Now I will admit. I think Lamar took great strides last year as a passer. Maybe we talk of him as a passer at the end of this year over being a running highlight! But until then. They will fall short in the playoffs. Unless the Ravens defense become so dominant they dont need offense.
Lamar had a great passing season last year, 4172 passing yards and an amazing 41-4 ratio. The only way the Ravens would be thought of as better at QB if if they had Mahomes/possibly Burrow or Allen. I think they would’ve beaten the Bills in the playoffs last season if Flowers had been healthy and they might’ve won anyway had Andrews not dropped the 2 pt pass.

Harbaugh is working on that defense because he realizes Lamar chokes in the playoffs.

....and only $4 mil of that is guaranteed. The other $2M is incentive based.

I am sure I am not the only fan of a CB needy team that is pretty pissed seeing this one.

It was just 2 years ago that any and everyone would have had this guy as a top 5 CB in the league. And at 28 years only, it is possible that he gets back or close to back to a high level.

I would agree.... wish he would have come back to Packers even at 2x that $. But too many bridges burned with Packers.

There are some "ifs" attached to the signing in regards to staying healthy (player more than 7 games only 1 team in last 4 seasons). Also he was no longer a "willing" tackler after his shoulder operation.

The one thing that I read is that the Packers had cleared him as healthy to play and that he decided he wasnt healthy enough to play on his own.

That is pretty worrisome. But still. A couple of years ago he was an amazing CB. Those dont grow on trees.

If the Lakers just sold for $10B, there's honestly no telling the number the Cowboys would bring if Jerry made all Cowboys fans happy and put the team up for sale

How are you vindicated? Not like LJ the only reason they don't get there and some really good QBs (Mahomes and Burrow) are the ones getting there over him. LJ also a good reason why they can get close in the first place, no?

I think I read somewhere that Lamar gets the longest time to throw from his oline. Just given the nature of how well the Ravens draft and how young Lamar is, I wouldn't be shocked if he wins something like 6 MVPs.

I see the Chiefs, Eagles, and Bills leaning on their defense more, maybe being a little more conservative. Texans, too, if Stroud maintains that level. Jackson, Burrow, and Daniels will likely have the great stats from here on out just kinda based around how they are built and Lamar and Daniels mobility. I guess thats probably why Josh Allens season last year was so special. Bills were just out there beating people up. Fantastic team with bad WRs imo.

Allen’s season last year was very impressive, especially given that he had no star WRs. The Bills are interesting in that Allen is their only superstar - they have lots of good players and no glaring weaknesses but no real superstars other than Allen.

The Chiefs definitely leaned on their D more the last couple of seasons, given their issues at receiver. This season I think their receiving unit will be much improved and I think Mahomes may put up bigger numbers again, but Kelce is aging and not what he used to be, so the Chiefs O will be somewhat different. Their D should be good again.

The Eagles are loaded with talent on both sides of the ball but I think their pass rush is the main concern going into 2025, given that Sweat and Williams left in free agency and Graham retired. I think the Eagles are slightly better on O than on D going into the season - Hurts is a very good QB, Saquon is the NFL’s best RB, they have 2 outstanding WRs, a great O-Line - they should be terrific again. I think the Eagles and Ravens are the two best and most complete teams on paper going in to 2025.

In Mahomes' 7 years, I believe Kelce led the team in targets 5 of those years and Hill 2 of those years. I suspect now we'll be a team that targets whoever stinks on the opposing defense just due to the Chiefs having some depth (in theory) at WR. Hollywood Brown has never had 100 targets in his career. I'm guessing either Worthy or Rice will be the #1 but both were thrown into the fire due to injuries so its hard to know exactly how the Chiefs see them when fully healthy. I see a lot of speed which makes me think a lot of the tough yards will be with the RBs and with the defense still being solid which makes me think Mahomes is going to settle into something like what Rodgers was doing in GB during his later years...although he won MVPs doing that Im not sure that will be the case with how many QBs that are in the league who I think will be pushing the envelope.

Yeah Kelce has been Mahomes primary target through most of his career - I completely agree that now they’ll spread the ball around more and exploit whoever the D’s weak link is instead of having a primary receiver that gets a ton of targets - I think the Chiefs receiving unit should be much better this year with Rice and Brown back from injury and Worthy entering year 2, so I think Mahomes passing numbers will be higher after he didn’t quite reach 4000 yards last season. The Chiefs rushing game will be interesting - it struggled much of last season and was a total non factor in the Super Bowl, but then again Pacheco was injured for over half the season.
