We've seen a lot of that. They will retreat to manners since there is often no substance there.

Peterson does a similar move all the time - "well it depends how you define ________." He'll use this exhaustively with common words and phrases like an escape hatch. It's pathetic. Words have common meanings. Debates and interviews have rules. Politicians are using this tactic endlessly now and if a journalist presses them on it, they go to the rude card.

It's pathetic. And they are not held to account, but the journalists are blamed. Yes, the underpaid generally highly ethical people who expose corruption and greed for not much personal benefit are the issue. Ridiculous.

Next time someone tries the " well define _______ bullshit" I hope I can stay composed enough to ask them if they really need my help defining simple words. It's dis-ingenuousness at it's peak.
