Lake okanagan up here is double the size and had 29 deaths on it in 10 years between 2013 and 2023. And this is a party lake … heavy drinking (drug use). Plus lots of boat rentals so it loads of inexperienced boaters who dont know what theyre doing not following signs on areas that say no wake.

Theres a super busy public boat launch in downtown kelowna and you will see … boat after boat …15 skin leathered and tatted up people squeeze onto a 21 footer while bringing on cooler after cooler of booze and they somehow manage to make it back to shore in one piece. Mind you i have witnessed a boat explode here because the person didnt turn their blower on and a boat slowly sink after launching because the no one put the drain plug back in.

Speaking only about boaters, the only difference i see is lake lanier is filled with idiots who voted trump lol

Lake Lanier has way too many "wannabe" boaters on it. To the point you can rent any type of boat you want.

Heck, one of the few times I was there, I witnessed someone beach their jet ski. They didn't get hurt but it was funny as hell because they were trying to be very cool in this cove 34°11'38.3"N 84°05'05.1"W · 34.193972, -84.084750 and lost control. They did go overboard on the jet ski but, like mentioned, wasn't hurt. And naturally they weren't wearing a life jacket which is a very common theme.

You guys are comparing Lake Lanier body counts to other bodies of water like they are all accidents, instead of "accidents".

Funny you mention that. Near Margaritaville/Lake Lanier Islands there was a beached house boat that sat in the area for months during the investigation.

Essentially it was some rich kid doing and dealing a ton of drugs was trying to run from the police and wrecked a freaking house boat. Most house boats on that lake don't go far outside their docks. I was amazed they wrecked it where it was - 34°10'17.4"N 84°01'38.0"W

Funny, honestly I have no clue as that area from what I could tell isn't the easiest to maneuver. Wonder if it was more of a drug party and the boat accidentally beached, then the cops came? Not sure but will try and find out.

George Wendt was in a short story in the Episode "Family" of Masters of Horror

in the episode he was tortured while tied up to a chair and everytime the scene was filmed from his back where he was being beaten it was my best friend who was the body double for him.

he said George was one of the nicest people he ever worked with
