The last time the Knicks were in the Eastern Finals

- Mission: Impossible II was the No. 1 film
- Santana's "Maria, Maria" was the No. 1 song
- Average fuel price was $1.48
- Average movie ticket price was $5.39
- Memphis, New Orleans, and OKC were not NBA cities
- 9/11 hadn't happened
- Jalen Hurts, the most recent Super Bowl MVP, was two years old
- Al Gore was better known for "inventing the internet" than for making woefully inaccurate climate predictions

Big series for the board!

We’ve got WalMart brand Crash Davis’s team vs Temu Kara Lawson’s team.

I remember it well.

One of the biggest Finals mismatches in history.

Spurs had David Robinson and Duncan in his prime and the Knicks had ... Marcus Camby.

The outcome was never in doubt.

Guys really needed to be open to hit 3s back then. And bigs dominated. Completely different game, so much less predictable now. Guys can create their own shots from behind the arc and teams can black out.

Yup. Huge mismatch.

Sprewell was pretty game and kept the Knicks in the games, but they didn't have much.

Maybe one of the worst NBA Finals teams in history. This Knicks team has a much better chance of winning,.

New York being by far the most important market left, the NBA naturally made sure they play on Friday and Sunday

Pretty chickenshit to me. Whatever teams win first should play first, it’s that simple.

Nothing chickenshit about money. That's almost the entire reason for any of this.

I fail to see the money angle in this instance.. The eastern conference game should have been set for Tuesday right after the series ended. Just fundamental fairness.

It's not even complicated, Friday and Sunday are the premium viewing days, and they want New York to have those. Money always beats fairness.

Have some confidence dude, you guys are the favorites, and young.

I am seeing where it may have something to do with which series in on tnt for whatever reason.

The last thing I’m worried about is the Thunder getting more rest. They are home and hopefully rounding into form. It just doesn’t seem to make a lot of sense.

I think the short turnaround is good for OKC.

The long layoff hurt them against Denver.

Yes I agree. I want to see them get back to their rotations and what got them there. They tried to tense up and lose that series, but it will make them better.
