Depth for the bottom 6 and/or 4th like. Abols looked OK in that role last year.

Its a shame the defense liked him but i could see why hes out. New coach new staff.

Im sure he wants a shot at the coaching spot. It's hard to decipher a long term contract on the basis of 10 or so games. Wish he would have had at least the second half of the season, Torts wasn't in it and should have resigned earlier.

I cant say this enough. Its never the coach its the shitty players we have put in front of the last 9 coaches. If you have great players and make the playoffs every year and win a cup or 2 a coach will never get fired.

On a side note, we often talk about finding a diamond in the rough come draft time and are adamant about picking in the top 5, which I get is where the stronger talent pool lies, but if your In the top 25 conversation anything is possible, not many top 1 picks have flourished to or beyond McDavid numbers. Remember, we took Konecny at 24th. I just hope we have better scouting these days.

If true, the Canadian justice system is fucked up. Apparently, the jury was dismissed and the judge will decide the case. A juror thought two of the defense attorneys were making fun of her and sent a note to the judge. Defendants can choose a bench trial but here they chose a jury trial. Now they have a bench trial. Unbelievable.
