Lowe details his experience in the lotto room this year on this pod starting around 20 min mark. One of the crazier things is just how many teams could have won based on what the last ball was. Spurs actually had the best odds based the first 3 numbers drawn and the last ball combos left

There are almost 30 pages of this discussion already with a number of examples from different people, not just me. You want to ignore it and start over. I don't know why you do and I don't care why, but this has already been explained to those of you that can't follow along- can't or won't or too scared about what that means... Your shortcoming aren't a concern to me. I've already elaborated on this topic more than you have earned.

No, you and a few others have spewn out illogical BS about why you think the lottery is rigged.

And the smart people here have laid out common sense reasons why it isn’t.

And even then, if you don’t trust the NBA, the entire lottery process is certified by an accounting firm.

And if you honestly believe for a second they are risking their reputation to let the NBA place a 19 year kid with a specific organization, then I just don’t know what else to tell you.

Because obviously they would not allow that.

The lottery is designed to discourage tanking. In the real world, it encourages it. They’ve encouraged teams on the fringe to tank because they have a greater chance than ever before to land in the top 4 spots. Most teams are going to choose that if they’re floating around .500. You’re not winning an NBA title as a 7 or 8 seed.

I definitely agree with this 100%. Borderline playoff teams have a chance. In a tanking system, they don't. Tanking sucks...but the worst team should get the best player...

So same as now
No, you can't tank. Nothing is guaranteed. Washington and Utah tried and they aren't rewarded. A team barely missing the playoffs is not tanking...they are just taking advantage of the lottery system.

That’s sort of what I’m saying, these teams shouldn’t be tanking and yet they do. So the lottery doesn’t prevent it.

So we’re Enron’s financials….

That's why it was put into place. Now the NBA is receiving way more criticism for "rigging" the draft and better teams drafting at the top

It's difficult to not tank when your roster is shit

Sounds like we agree they should try a different system

They probably won't because the lottery gets eyeballs and chatter. Even the conspiracy chatter is good for business.

Being bad isn’t tanking

This kills the agenda that the lottery is rigged.....LOL.

Agree 100%.

Whether one buys the conspiracy theories or not...the biggest issue is that it doesn't accomplish the stated goal of stopping tanking. The play in tournament actually does more to stop tanking, but even that is only with about 4 or 5 teams in each conference.

Enron just proves that EVERYTHING is fraudulent ALL THE TIME

Js you can’t pretend they’re above reproach when EY has their own issues beyond the fact that major accounting firms got shut down for shady stuff

Plus, it’s not impossible to simply rig the ping pong ball machine
