Martin will have his elbow re-evaluated on Wednesday, which almost certainly means a trip to an MRI tube to determine whether or not the pops he felt was the ulnar collateral ligament in his elbow shredding or something less significant.

“A little discomfort,” Martin said. “It just didn’t feel right. It was not worth trying to push through it.”

Asked if he felt a “pop,” Martin’s response at least initially seemed even more grave.

“Maybe a couple of them,” he said. “But I had something like this when Luke [Jackson] and I were in Atlanta. I was playing long toss and it popped and really loud. I thought that was it. I went in. They looked at it and I think I actually ended up throwing that night. We’ll get this figured out.”

But, Martin added, he also was in no pain after the game on Tuesday.

OF Kevin Pillar (on 10-day IL with lower back inflammation) is scheduled to begin a rehab assignment today with Frisco (AA) vs. Corpus Christi at Riders Field (first pitch: 12:05 p.m. CT).

Pillar is expected to bat 2nd and serve as Frisco's starting designated hitter today.

Apparently Martin's MRI was negative, even though Evan Grant did his best George Costanza imitation when reporting it as being "positive."

Abimelec Ortiz with a walk off Grand Slam for the Roughriders this afternoon. They were down at the end of 7 innings, 9-3. They won it 12-9.
