Hopefully things continue to take a turn for the positive.
I'm with you on Gray, though I still think it's possible a guy like Garcia gets a shot at closer before Gray gets back.
Jackson just isn't closer material. Maybe a solid 6th- or 7th inning guy.
I still believe Sborz could be in the running too. It would be awesome if Sborz and Gray could move everyone in the pen down two slots. Or maybe even if Gray becomes one of the long men instead of Latz.

I still wonder if David Robertson doesn't become an option at some point whenever the deal he wants works on a pro rata basis with the CBT threshold.

All in all good series win even despite the 2-1 loss on Friday
Losing to Tarik Skubal in a close low scoring game should be of no surprise. He is one of the best pitchers in the game.
Agreed totally. This offense married with our smothering pitching is a deadly combo.

I like Sborz, too. I just really like what we're seeing out of Robert Garcia and think he would excel in the closers' role. That said, Sborz has the chops for the role if he's healthy and right. At this point I like the idea of Gray working as a long man, with a guy like Sborz in the mix for either the closer role or just a high leverage role in general. Between Garcia, Martin, Sborz, Milner (I know, low velocity, but he is slow and deadly), I feel pretty good about our late-inning options.
As for Robertson - if he would take a deal that works for the team, that's yet another excellent option. I'm all for that.

Don't forget Luis Curvelo as an option for the pen at some point this year. He has had a really good season so far. In his last 5 outings hehas put up these numbers:

4 2 innings
0 runs
0 hits
1 walk
6 strikeouts

Curvelo, Winn and Ahlstrom are all having good seasons for Round Rock. Winn pitched another scoreless innings today. He is still unscored upon.

Seems like we have a TON more quality relief options than available spots on the team. Talk about depth.

Today demonstrated yet again that Eovaldi is the team Ace. As awesome as it is to have a healthy and productive deGrom, he's not on Eovaldi's level. Eovaldi can start game 1 in the playoffs against anybody else's Ace and I like our odds.

Exactly I was thinking the same thing. Nate seems to really bare down come playoff time. He is on a different level. Right now if the playoffs were to start it would be Nate E, JDG then Mahle. Think we need to find out who that 4th guy would be. Just don't know if Leiter can be that guy although he has improved from last year.
Maybe it comes down to Bradford or Gray. Bradford was really good before his Injury last year. Gray was pitching well too before his injury this year. I just can't forget how good Gray was 2 years ago in the playoffs coming on in relief.

I personally think Sborz could be a reach. I just hope he can be a good BP piece first.

I like Sborz more of a spot closer like he did in game 5 of the series and then normally work him in the 6th, 7th or 8th inning. David Robertson should have been signed a while ago. Signing a DH that can only hit right handers for 37 million borders on the spectrum of lunacy.

I read the Jeff Speicher article on Blaine Crim. I completely agree with him.
Just 11 ABs is hardly giving the guy a chance. I remember Bochy bringing him in cold to face Aroldis Chapman. Didn't seem fair and did not expect a good outcome. We saw what happened.
