The craziest one I can remember is Kevin Millwood. He went to Colorado after a career best season. Was one of the best pitchers in baseball. Then went to Colorado and sucked.

I remember Milwood bc he pitched for Cleveland. His best year of his career. He led the AL in ERA yet he was 9-11.

As a Tigers fan, my opinion is he will hold SS until Mcgonigle comes up. He will be a league average kind of guy.

The interesting argument is now where to put Baez when Meadows comes up, suddenly we have two insanely talented defensive CF.

This last week or so has been the best he’s done so far in his short career.

He’s going to lose time when Vierling and Meadows get back and Baez isn’t needed at third and center as much.

He’s really good with the glove. Not so much with the bat.

Baez has always been a good to excellent defender anywhere he has been placed.

His proclivity to chase outside pitches has been his downfall pretty much since covid.

Now that I've said that, I just went through like 3 pages of RP vs. SP.

Milk made the Dummy League to figure out changes for next year, and most people have objected to changes this year.

So how 'bout we let it play out and see what happens for next year?

It seems like useful shortstops are difficult to find off the scrap heap in this league compared to other positions. I was fortunate to get Regnifo at the end of last year's draft who helped me most of the year, then I pawned him off right before he turned into a pumpkin. His SS eligibility in 2025 is probably gone anyhow (although you may be referring to your MI slot and he is still a second baseman).

That was the one thing I was considering advising you on in pre-season, because I really did feel the degree of difficulty in trying to find shortstops. I didn't do that because then I would have felt remiss if I didn't mention Joey Ortiz as an option who'd get new SS eligibility with Adames out of town. And I am quite relieved I held my tongue all the way and did not recommend Ortiz...even as an alternative last ditch option, lmao.
