Michkov not in the final voting for ROY is an absolute joke!!!!:crazy::crazy::crazy:
Anti-flyers bias

This was supposed to change with Keith Jones in his new seat, but the league and it's affiliates in the media still harm the Flyers every opportunity they get.

Also anti-russian bias.
Ukraine is corrupt shithole.

I agree i dont think they are rigging it either my problem is just that they have waaaaaaaay to many teams in the draft lottery.

Trying to discourage tanking. Which I kind of agree with.

But I love Down Goes Brown's concept for determining draft picks. Team with the most points accrued after being eliminated from the playoffs. Teams that suck get eliminated early and an advantage by having a lot of games left to accrue points. But they're incentivized to win instead of tank. Teams that are already pretty good but barely miss the playoffs only have a few games to accrue points. Then do playoff teams essentially how they do now. Reverse order of regular season points based on how far you go in the playoffs.

Whom they traded away in an all or nothing trade for Lindros and we know how that story played out. However, if the kid has Forsberg type skills, why not.
A 6th and a 25th pick in the first round and either Helg Grans or a second round pick for the number 3 pick is a far cry from what we traded to get Lindros.

We would still have 2 first round picks and 3 second round picks next year if they took the 2nd round pick option.

PuckPedia has a calculator for pick values. I used San Jose's #2 pick because I'd only trade up to get to Misa. Seems like the guys 3 to 6 or 7 are rated pretty similarly by most people. But to get to #2 it would take #6, #24, #36, and #68. Flyers 1st, Colorado 1st, Flyers 2nd, Flyers 3rd, gets you to equal value according to PuckPedia. I'd probably do that if I were the Flyers. Sharks MIGHT be interested in trading back because they have two solid C prospects already and could really use a guy like Mrtka, but #2 is way too high for him. #6 is still a bit of a reach, but not nearly as bad. But if I were the Sharks, I'd just take Misa and sort out the "problem" of having too many good C's later.

What I'd really look at is someone like the Pens at 10 and maybe 12 (NYR option) if McQueen is still out there. Calculator says #24, #25, and #48 could get you up to #10. Pens have essentially nothing in their pipeline and might be interested in 3 top 50 picks rather than 1 top 10 pick. Especially since they might still have #12 anyway, if the Rangers opt to move it rather than an unprotected pick next year which seems prudent to me. Would be a big swing at a guy people say has top 5 talent, just has some significant injury concerns. Flyers have to take those risks if this plan is going to work out. (Pending the medical doesn't come back and say the guy has 0 shot at a recovery)

Also interested in trading into the 13-17 range for Aitcheson if he's available there.

Too smart for this stupid league.

Wilson is such a dick. Glad the Canes won / scoreboard trumps all else.

These teams are killing each other and the overall playoff hockey is exceptional. I don't believe whoever comes out of the west will have anything left for the champs of the East, which is still Florida, for me. The Leafs were extremely fortunate to hold onto game 1. I truly think they will struggle to win another game in that series. Carolina dominated, so I was glad to seem them clip Washington. They are also more likeable with Brind'Amour, who was a big part of our 90's squads in Philly.

I would love Misa and wouldnt mind if we do that but i was looking to trade up to #3 or #4 if he's still there to get Hagens. It would certainly cost less than 5 picks.

Here's a mock draft that has us taking McQueen or Aitcheson with the 6th pick.

Wow, that's an interesting mock. Both have O'Brien in the top 5 too. But McQueen and Aitcheson have been in the 10-15 range in most of the rankings I've seen. That's quite a jump to take either at 6. Not totally against taking those guys, but if they do they should trade down to the 10ish spot. (or better yet, trade up from the mid 20s)

I'd take Mrtka over Aitcheson though.

Yes. Take the center we like at #6 and then trade up into the top 15 to still get one of the top defenders of this draft. We have plenty of ammunition to at least do that much with 7 out of the top 48 picks. Either way, there's a lot of room to get creative here, depending on our draft board when it's our turn to select.

Fortunately, 4 of the 5 teams picking ahead of us in this draft are in the western conference, but it definitely sucks that the fucking Islanders stole the top overall pick. Utah jumping us is a bummer, but at least it wasn't the Pens, Bruins, Rags or Jackets. Could've been horrific. Hopefully we can trade up or find a prospect that eventually sticks in the Nhl out of our 2nd round picks.
