So Sanders not getting drafted through 3 rounds is clearly collision right?

I mean, there were some other good WRs in that conference and don't think their QBs had production like him. :noidea:
Your implication is that if he played for one of those teams his stats would have been similar even without Hunter. Do you really believe that?

They traded 3 first round picks for Deshaun Watson,. Why would they need to draft a QB?
The premise of trading three firsts for a stud qb I support actually. Doing it in the midst of all the BS going on while fully guaranteeing a contract is bananas. If all that wasnt going on. Deshaun is probably still Deshaun…..and the Browns would of made the right move.

Doesn't address the point he was trying to make and I was responding to.

That would, depend on which Big Ten team he was playing with. He would be fine with Penn State, Michigan, Ohio State, currently Indiana. That would also depend on whether or not any of those coaches would put up with his blaming others. At those schools he would have good protection and good receivers.
Agree...this conference thing is overblown. Other QBs in that conference who did not approach his production.

No idea as I don't know who the other WRs are in that conference. Pretty sure Iowa State had a couple good ones, though, as well as AZ so why not?

Because they screwed the pooch on that one....a move a dozen or so other teams tried to make.

were you really not aware?

And doesn't this make it absurd to make the comment I replied to?

I guess? But if all that not going on and he did not ask to be dealt Watson might still be in Houston.

The guaranteeing the contract is so overblown though. I mean, none of the teams (at least 12) going after him did so thinking a guy who rarely got hurt would suffer multiple major injuries AND forget how to play football for whatever reason (injuries, mental issues, etc) in his prime seasons. Thought was he'd play as everyone expected and they'd be glad to pay him that money....and he'd be underpaid within a couple seasons.

Even if it went down as as it did the Browns were screwed if, say, 75-80% guaranteed.

How soon should they have given up on him? They were still peddling the nonsense that he was going to be back, better than ever last year.

No one on the coaching staff insisted he'd be back and better than ever and were they supposed to give up on him when he actually played well in 2023 pre injury?

I just meant u cant guarantee it with what was going on. Please correct me if im wrong, but they did that with his investigation up in the air….otherwise. No issue at all with it.

I'm pretty sure when the deal was made it was at least to point would not be prosecuted criminally. Likely they had the details we eventually all had which showed it was factual many of the women lied. Guessing they figured he had some serious issues but maybe just a fetish. My guess is assumed long suspension coming (maybe not 11 games) but would not forget how to play football.

At time I can appreciate my team went all out to get him. Guessing might have been other teams willing to guaranee the contract. But, really, 80% guaranteed again, still screwed.

Have to say sounds like the Tucker ordeal just as bad and hearing next to nothing about it. Likely because he's a kicker coming off a bad season.

And so the sideshow begins. Even when the kid doesn't try to make a big deal out of something it is going to happen. Right or wrong this is part of why teams passed on him and in this case, assuming the story is accurate, the kid did nothing wrong! The media is playing just as big a role in this as Sanders and his father at this point

Played well? We must have been watching different QB's.

In 5 games, he had a 61.4% completion percentage with 7 TD's and 4 picks.

The Browns were 3-2 and he never even threw for 300 yards.

I didn't count the 6th game vs the Colts because he only threw 1 pass and was done.
