Yeah that’s a soft call.

...based on the smallest of sample sizesCan cohesion beat talent? That was the tourney. That is gone now.
Exactly like I said. Don't need the 64 teams now.
64 was great. The bottom half teams had real chances to compete. They weren't going to beat 3 top teams in a row in the final rounds, but they could shake the whole thing up and get attention for their program. Not anymore.Never really did to be fair. A few early round upsets get washed out soon enough anyway.

"pushed"? NIL had to happen because it was just. If someone was making millions off shirts with my name on it, I'd want a cut and so would you. And without NIL, the NBA would have gutted CBB. Many in the league wanted to challenge the Draft in the courts. End the Draft, sign whoever they wanted, expand the G League and leave CBB the scraps. This tournament was boring. I suspect NIL deals and changing the transfer rule has ruined the tournament for regular spectators forever. Gone are the days of players like Steph Curry playing at small schools for more than 1 year. Now, anybody that excels at a mid major will transfer to a major conference the following year. The magic of the tourney is gone and the people who were pushing payment for the players only have themselves to blame. I bet revenue for the tourney starts to decline over the next few years.
