I’m fine with Jarrett, but seeing what the Vikes are paying Allen, I’d have preferred that.

Last thing we needed to see one of the top def lineman coming to the North.....

That Vikes def was very goid last season, niw adding Allen, wow they are gonna be even tougher...

Edit**
Add Javon Hargrave to the mix......damn

Yeah but if JJ McCarthy doesn't pan out or they don't find another solution at QB and Sam Darnold plays well in Seattle.....Kwesi is getting fired in two years.

I can see both players stinking actually.......
I was never a believer in DK Metcalf to begin with, but he did have his moments and now he is gone......
Its Jaxons turn to be THAT guy,can he give Darnold that player JJettas is....I doubt it.
Not sure what McCarthy will bring to the table after a college career of handing the ball off.....

But with that Minn def,its gonna keep them in games.....
Kwesi has done a great job so far with that team,Dallas Turner and Addison, and a couple of freeagents to get them to the playoffs last season..

McCarthy is the key.......

They did not chase after a single tackle, they got the DE and here goes the fixation that we need to keep Kmet off the field more. They already agreed to Miami's TE deal, can we finally let Kmet be a focus for this passing game?

I dont want to see us have a top 10 offensive line and still see Swift running sideways. Doing a great job also means addressing the mistakes that were made. I dont think we should be willing to let the first quarter of games pass before we realize swift is a third down back and we need to have someone for first and second down. Big question right now will be the health of Brisker and Gordon and pretty sure a big part of the Allen style of defense is a big hitter on the back end.
What I'm uncertain about is how much of this was driven by the Head coach. Because, as stated above, Poles had the ability and failed over his tenure to this point, to fix the O line (not that he didn't give it an effort). Now, the cards seem to fall into place to get three really solid veterans on the O line and up in the middle (so Jones needs someone to push him? Kid from 2nd round last year?). And that last pick up from Atlanta, the DT? What was Atlanta thinking? That kid is a disrupter up front for the D (even Montez said, wow). That sort of fell into the Bears lap. Weird. Things rarely fall our way (ok, ok, fleecing the Panthers).

I hope Johnson continues to work with Poles at finding solid help in the draft. Perhaps both together can figure it out, like this FA period this year.

We have all been begging for O line help for years... It takes Johnson's hire to get it done.

I envision free agents going through the list of NFL teams that they can play for and it going something like this:

Shit.
Shit.
Shit.
Shit.

BTW, anyone have a particular grade for the Bears offseason moves to date? I know, just like the draft, we really shouldn't give out a grade without having seen how these transactions pan out on the field. But also like the draft, screw that. It's still human nature to give a grade based on how you anticipate it all will play out.

So that being said, I'm giving the Bears a B+ at this point. I think the moves Poles made to do as much as possible in filling positions of need gets an A+, but I drop it a grade overall based on the players acquired.

We need a 3rd receiver. I was hoping Poles would land a vet during free agency, and there is still plenty of quality talent out there. Not sure if it's a money issue, I know we're not too far removed from zero cap land, with a lot of contracts including all the rookies that will need to be completed. Poles could also be waiting for future cuts or maybe relying on the draft/UDFA to find one. I remember a short while back when it was learned that the Rams planned on either trading or dumping Cooper Kupp, both Moore and Odunze openly wished for him to join the Bears. If he's cost effective, I wouldn't mind Poles going after Tyler Lockett. Unlike Kupp, who's been battling injuries the last few years, Lockett is healthy and still seems to have a lot left in the tank.

I looked up some stats on him,and other than his first couple years,he has been in that starting lineup every game.....
Had close to 1200 yards in 21.........
Last couple years his production has taken a bit of a hit,but the ran 3 wrs with DK and JSN......

Im with ya,it would not be a bad signing at all.....

As for Kupp,no thanks.......

Looks like our #3 will be Olamide Zaccheaus:

Not gonna lie, never heard of him, but reviewing his stats he does seem like a nice #3 receiver. Definitely on the small side and not a barn burner. But he's healthy, having not missed a game in the past four seasons. Last season with the Commanders he had 45 receptions for 506 yds and 3 TDs. Those seem like solid #3 WR numbers.

Looks like the 'Boys picked up Sanborn:

Good signing. Sorry to see him leave, I thought he played well during his tenure with the Bears. Obviously Flus was a key factor in his signing.

This was really a great pickup for the bears. I dont think he did anything to not deserve a shot at playing MLB in 2023 nose for the ball, great in the run game. But instead they chose to pay Edmunds and Edwards making both of them the highest paid linebackers in the NFL.

The 5 or 6 games he started at middle linebacker he basically had 64 tackles, 50 of the solo kind, 5 tackles for loss and 3 quarterback hits. There were games that was all you heard was Sanborn when they played the Jets in 2022 when he had 15 tackles.

Thats the kind of player you find on the cheap that allows you to pay for the positions you need. Everfluke wanted Edmunds to come and run his defense here.

Prove you can do it, then get replaced anyway.

I watched a lot of Commanders games last season.....JD5 put him on the map. If not for Jayden,I would gave never heard of him either.....
