Was looking at the same thing with Austin Matthews. His current pace is he would be past 900 goals with the same amount of games played as Ovechkin. Granted we know as he ages his pace will drop but he somehow puts up a few more 50/60 goal seasons, I see him near the top in 800 more games (if he plays that long).

• Ovechkin breaks his own record of most 30 goal seasons with 19 of them now (two more than Gartner and five more than Gretzky).
• Ovechkin joins Howe, Buckyk, and Selanne as the only players his age (39) or older with 30 goals in a season.
• Without his injury, Ovechkin's goals per game average this season would put him only one goal behind league leader Leon Draisaitl.
• Betting odds now place Ovechkin at a 63.5% probability to break the record this year.
• If OV keeps his seasons' pace, we would break the record by five goals (but that may be a tall order).
