I always thought they should have required retractable roofs on all new stadiums built since ? (whenever they were available). It only makes sense.

Eh, if the owners want to keep their gravy train of extorting public money no way can they can start asking for retractable roofs from the public. Ain’t no way the owners will approve a self imposed expense. No idea on how much money it would be but assuming it’s $500 million at a minimum. Though it does seem really dumb of Minneapolis that they approved public money and didn’t put a retractable roof on it. Isn’t much difference between 1 billion and 1.2 billion when it was built. Zero to $500 million is a lot IMO.

I believe I said on all new stadiums built not replacing existing stadiums just to have a retractable roof. If the M's could afford it, ya public money blah, blah, blah), then I don't see any of the other teams not being able to when they were replacing their stadiums like Minni or Colorado or any bad weather locations. Like somebody pointed out, SoCal wouldn't need them but a few others should have at the time of their builds.

Nice win yesterday and good to see a couple guys have really good days at the plate

Let’s hope Kirby has a really strong outing in game one today to ensure at least at minimum a series win.

I’m looking at our team stats against Colorado’s game one starter, and I can’t help but notice Polanco is 0 for 19 against this guy?

Through at least 50 or 60 at bats this season this guy is 100 points below his career batting average and we’re talking 3000+ at bats

How can this Mariners curse be so prevalent with everyone who comes here?

It’s just defies, math and logic.

Cole Young (20 years old) is off to a nice start with the Travelers. Minor league players don't get much playing time in AAA these days if they are good. But they also don't get rushed to MLB to sit on the bench. Cole is a middle infielder playing SS. Tacoma's SS is Ryan Bliss, also having a decent season. Sam Haggerty is the Rainiers everyday second baseman. If JP doesn't shake his slump in another month or so, I can see Sam getting called up for occasional starts at SS just to give JP some relief, Bliss moving to second at Tacoma, and Young called up to Tacoma to play SS for the Rainiers.

A couple of veteran starting pitchers are making an impact on the Rainiers:

Dallas Keuchel has made two nice starts for the Rainiers. He is probably first in line for a spot start if the Mariners need one or if one of the five starters goes down for a start or two. Although the current starters have five consecutive quality starts so the rotation looks locked right now with Gilbert taking the ball tonight.

If Keuchel doesn't get a spot start, Jhonathan Diaz will. Diaz is 2-0 with a 0.50 ERA after three nice starts for the Rainiers who are 11-4.
