I think the real question is going to be how long it takes him to throw a fit with Houston when his targets inevitably go down. He's proved the last few years that even when the team is winning if he doesn't get what he feels like he deserves in the passing game then he will show his ass. It's just a matter of time. He seems like somebody that is impossible to keep happy.

Buffalo needed to start from scratch.
I wonder about that.
BIlls had some good pieces in place already, starting with a better-than-most QB. Then they fire the OC. They let Singeltary walk in free agency. (Its not like Singeltary was elite, but he ran hard for Buffalo and was not a liability.) Now they're selling off pieces like Diggs.
Kind of a headscratcher if you ask me.

I guess the only question is:

Does he stay top 5-10 WR production OR do Dell and Collins climb and Diggs drops a bit? It's going to be one or the other unless Stroud throws for 5,000 and 40 TD's....not saying it can't happen bc it could.
Here's another question: Does he get pissed about having to share targets and become a detriment all over again?

And I still think he had serious issues with Josh Allen and Allen had serious issues with him.

Ha, we are on the same wavelength.

I think that the older he gets, the more amenable he will be to being happy. ;)

I guess they already have started from scratch to an extent in their WR room. Set up to a rookie WR in the 1st.

What do you think of Shakir? Can't he be a legit #2 or #3? I think Kincaid is set to be #1, add in a rookie...

At one point I thought he was all about winning in Buffalo but after he whined about his lack of targets I am questioning is winning enough

I like Shakir. I think I traded him to you in D2, didn't I?

Anyway, he's set up for a great opportunity. I've never been a Curtis Samuel fan. Could be a legit 2 or 3.

The ball is in his court, unless they snag a good WR in the draft.

28th pick in this year's draft. Do they bundle that and next year's 2025 pick from Houston (via the Vikings) to trade up?

As long as Josh Allen is the QB, the window is still open.

They sold off Diggs and took a 31 million dollar cap hit.

That tells me someone REALLY wanted him gone.

I wonder just how much influence Josh Allen has in the organization...

Yeah it will be interesting to see who gets the best of our trade.

Dell. Does his production go down or does this increase his already high ceiling.
Shakir. I think he can be a #2 but we will see this year.

I think there will be plenty of options at #28 but I could see them trading up a couple slots to grab THEIR wide receiver possibly.

I just looked up our trade and lol, it's kinda ironic. That was our Blockbuster!

I think in the short term, Dell's production goes down. He's young and has plenty of time.

The more I think about it, Diggs has to be Houston's #1. There's no way around it.

Stroud was good at targeting the guy that the defense left open or in single coverage last season, should continue and we'll see inconsistent game over game stats from all 3 of their WRs

To be fair, about 29 million of that was accounted for no matter what they did with him. They only take on an additional 3+million to save about 30 the next three years by trading him now.

Yes 31 million for a player not on you team sucks...but you can't look at it that way. 28+m was already spent, and now the rest of his contract is off your books for the low price of 3 million today.

Wouldnt cutting Diggs save them all that? Or do they still have to pay a released player?

From what I understand, if they'd waited until after June 1st to trade him, next year's cap hit would be 8.8 mil.

That's kind of a big difference.

I read somewhere that it's the biggest cap hit for a WR in NFL history. Not sure if that's true.

As far as I understand, they owed him no matter what.

After June 1st it would've been cheaper, but that's that.

At least they got a 2nd rounder for him. And seeing how my Vikings are looking at the moment, it might be a pretty low one.
