I learned that we need more Sandstorm....

Hard to see that being a problem, as it is there are too few all star slots for all the deserving players. A quick look shows something like:

Giannis, Luka, Jokic, SGA, Embiid, Wemby, Gobert, Markannen, Siakam, Porzingis, Wagner, Sabonis

vs

Tatum, LeBron, Curry, AD, KD, Kyrie, Ja, Brunson, Kawhi, Butler, Edwards, Zion

International team seems better, but maybe too big, not enough guards. But as you can see no problem filling the rosters and there's more I left off (Halliburton, Ingram, KAT, Bam etc for US, Anunoby, Wiggins, etc for international)

Markannen and Wagner did not play at an all star level this year and same for OG or Wiggins so you are basically handing out all star selections for guys who may not deserve it

Ok pick others. It's just the all star game. But if they want to have all stars named for contract purposes and different ones for a US vs international game that's fine too. This stuff doesn't matter much.

It does matter when your career is over. After end of season awards, all star appearances is the next thing people go to when talking about individual accomplishments for a player. There is a reason why players get mad every year when they believe they got robbed
