I wasn’t a fan because I don’t like 2 small guards

Portland showed how hard it is to make it work

But they’ll get a decent amount of it back

I’ll eat that I wasn’t a huge mark fan and he’s taken huge leaps forward

Sexton is much closer to clarkson, like I said, and also dumb that Utah is collecting non pgs to play pg….
Ideally, 2 small guards as well as 2 nonshooting bigs not ideal but even as an incredibly young starting unit (youngest in east) we were a top 10 O and D with those guys and won 51 games. sure, out in 1st round but added the type of players they needed in Niang and Strus.

I'm confident if Portland had this version of Allen and Mobley with their small guards they'd have done some serious damage. In addition, if you dropped our small guards onto, say, either LA team, I'd put my money on them to go to Finals if either remained healthy.

That’s fair. At the same time, if that’s me and say Shake Milton goes off to do things elsewhere I’m mad at the Sixers for not having the vision and development to get that ceiling out of a guy.

Do we agree that Mitchell doesn’t fit and he’s stagnating the growth of others?
as to your first comment hard to be so mad when he isn't that guy if he stays put and is the 3-4th option.

to the second question for me the answer is no. I mean, sure, there are games he hurts us when he is way off as he will still take a lot of shots....but I'd rather have him than not. Guy is pretty close to a 28/5/5 guy and overall his shooting is still pretty good....in a major slump from 3 though. But I'd rather the young guys not be on a team that loses a lot......when we added Mitchell last year, could certainly argue Garland, Mobley and Allen were either better or no worse than the previous season without him.

No doubt. College ball is inferior to pro ball because the quality of player lacks.

especially with all this one and done

I do feel kids are more polished out of HS but you can't substitute 2 or 3 years of college experience for a lot of these guys.

Not everyone is Lebron. well..most aren't.

The nba could step up and pay for their own minor league

They’d rather free ride on the tax payer dime

If you put jaylen brown and Derrick white on those teams they’d go to the finals too….

But I do get your overall point

The CLe roster is better designed and constructed than port was

per

not the point here ..

They watch college ball because the kids play the game the way it’s supposed to be played . Not because they are pro level talented.

The coach still has the reigns , and the kids play with all heart .

That’s what fans want to see imo.

I don't see it that way at all actually. It's supposed to be a free flowing game. College is now at nearly 40 percent of its shots being 3s (NBA is about 33 percent) but the major difference is the ability to make them (a 4 percent delta now) and the amount of possessions each team has. The pace from which college plays (yes the shot clock is longer obviously) is dramatically different.

It leads to a lot of clunky possessions where the offense holds the ball and then takes a low percentage 3 with the clock running down. And we call that defense.

It seems like that after watching the last two games Garland plays better without and the ball movement is better.
I don’t think the FO is going to look at this like us fans. They should be trying to flip him right now for the best package and fit available honestly
Now I do agree with this, but I'd say that about any player.

I bet lol

You all benefitted from a train wreck tournament lol

And still ended up with one of the toughest runs this century

From the bracket of death no less (top 5 seeds were all top 12 teams in kenpom)

I think someone nailed it. Monty didn't want to coach but the Pistons threw so much money at him he said fuck it. He is coaching like he doesn't give a fuck.
He’s coaching like he wants to get Weaver fired (not that that is necessarily a bad idea, but you can’t tell how Troy has done if you won’t play his picks).
