I kind of think everyone is correct here. I agree with your point, but I think if literally all the best players in the world play in a league, such as the NBA then I have no problem with it. Like you I fail to see the need to call it a world championship though, it’s understood. And if the Canadian created a National team and wanted to challenge Americans and any other country who wanted to take part?
They could call it a world championship.

Guessing they don't want to get rid of him too early as these guys have seen done with Joseph, McLaughlan and even Carlson (Stefanski was in MN when they let him go, I believe).
But there have been some good kicker battles in camps and my guess is they pick up the loser of a close competition. Have to think York could make it through waivers.....though maybe not as maybe a team that does knows they are not going anywhere takes a chance on him?
I got could use to hearing that!ND with quite the beatdown...

Can't wait. I think this'll be a great year for the NFL, but we'll see how it goes...
Im just happy the saints made it through camp & preseason without any significant injuriesCan't wait. I think this'll be a great year for the NFL, but we'll see how it goes...
...oh, and as always, G Chiefs...![]()
Ouch. The beat down the Rams are taking...![]()
Of course it is.
It is a true international competition to crown a world champ.
That is the definition of what a “world championship” actually is.
There isn’t a better club than the Denver Nuggets. They are the champs of the best league.
That isn’t the point.
They can call themselves the best club in the world if it makes them feel good.
The world champ is being crowned in a couple weeks. And it will be the winning national team.
Eh I kind of look at it like whoever wins is the best of what was entered into a contest known as the World Basketball Championship. It’s semantics. We have the little league World Series going on right now. I promise you there are travel teams around that would pummel the winner every year. Same thing. The original argument from the track guy was stupid. So you think that any of the teams participating in this current tourney are truly the best those countries can offer? So many NBA stars sitting them out...
