You know back in the day when they used to do parades? Crowds of people would follow the band wagon because it was fun.

Bandwagoning literally means following the crowd. That is what it is.

It does not apply to adding a second irrelevant team.

You need to make up a new term for that if you want to make fun of him for it.

So we get the casuals showing up trying to act like they know what they're talking about and the "used to be a fan/never was a fan" folks stopping by to tell us what's wrong with the NBA.

Bandwagoners are people who jump on board and follow the crowd when a team starts doing well.

That is 100% not what Cane is.

He started following them when they went rebuild after trading Carmelo Anthony.

And, if Denver were to somehow build a super team?

My guess is that he would stop rooting for them.

Not a band wagon fan.

Yeah not a bandwagon. He was a player fan that kept rooting for the same team. That’s what I used to do when I was a kid. In the end, he is a true Pacers fan and Denver is a second team he roots for as well. For me, that means nothing, you have one true team-even if I root for a team it means nothing if they win. The journey is the best part. Following the same team, going through heartbreak, tanking, rising and then if you get a chance the ultimate goal. I agree though, he isn’t a bandwagon but he doesn’t need to showboat like this is “his team”

It's all just words so you can use them how you like but I came to my Giants and White Sox fandom organically and legitimately. I prefer the Giants but I still root for the Sox. No one cares about your judgements.

Been a long time since I've been in downtown Cleveland and was never that familiar with things.

I called myself an Orioles and Nationals fan for many years.

I am a Washington sports fan. Have been all my life.

But the Nats didn’t exist when I was coming up, so I rooted for the next closest team which was the Orioles. Starting following the Nats too when they moved from Montreal.

That is as organic as it gets.

Now?

I barely follow baseball anymore. If one of my teams gets close I will pay attention. But not so much when they aren’t.

So if someone wants to call me a bandwagon Nats/O’s fan?

I would own that and they would be correct in calling me a bandwagoner even though I have rooted for those teams as long as I could.

It's just sports. People are allowed to root for whoever they want however they want. And people are allowed to trash talk them if they want too.

As long as you are not switching teams frequently then im cool with it. I'm even ok with players fans
