Crying is exactly what you're doing when you just post chartswithout context.

Teams that shoot as few 3's as the Lakers do and score in the paint like they do will always have more FTA's than other teams.

Been that way forever.
Has nothing to do with the whistle at the other end of the floor. The disparity is vast. The gap between the largest disparity and the 2nd largest disparity is bigger than the raw total of the 2nd largest disparity?!?!?

That one tweet I linked said that. I’m talking about decades of bull shit

And how is that relevant in todays NBA?

I didn't hear a peep from people between 2013 and 2019

Or are we just picking and choosing very particular moments?

Also, InB4 someone mentions Game 6 of the 2002 WCF

So the Lakers are very good at drawing fouls. Your point?

So is the disparity between the 3's they shoot and the shots they take in the paint.

But I get it, narratives are difficult for folks to give up.

Not the Cavs lol. Their differential is one of the lowest and their attempts are near the bottom. All I know is Garland either doesn’t know how to draw contact or the refs hate him.

It was never about the Lakers being aggressive, that’s what they do but the differential is mind-boggling. It really doesn’t make sense imo. I would like to see historical data for this stat though.

So its LAs fault Atlanta suck at drawing fouls?

Maybe stop taking mid range shots?
I mentioned Atlanta because they shoot 3’s and get points in the paint at equal rates to the Lakers. Those were the 2 reasons given for the foul shooting discrepancy.

It makes sense when you look at the extreme disparity between the Lakers shooting in the paint vs. 3 pointers.

No I’m being serious, kind of, I want to understand.

It's been explained multiple times. You are either incapable of grasping it ot don't want to.

Ftr, I don't think you're incapable.

No the explanation that was given of lack of 3 pt attempts and points in the paint is totally debunked by Atlanta. I’m looking for other explanations.

But Atlanta has the exact same numbers in both but they have negative Ft differential?

Look at the players getting to the paint and the hoop for starters.

Are we going to compare Collins and Capella to Lebron and AD?

This is like wondering why Shaq got so many free throws...
