He will join Fred McGriff in Cooperstown this July. He has the lowest initial vote total of anyone enshrined. He made it by 5 votes.

While I don’t think he is an “inner-circle” HOFer, I think he is worthy. Congrats to him.

McGriff is a fence HOFer, imho. If it were MY HOF, he wouldn’t be in, but I am not upset with his inclusion.

Todd Helton just missed it

Could see him and Wagner make it next year, Andruw could be close. You do have Beltre, Utley, David Wright and Mauer on the ballot next year.

Beltre should be a lock. If Rolen is in Jeff Kent should be too.

Does Rolen wear a Cardinals hat in Cooperstown?

He should.
Regular season number are pretty clear for Philly. But that ain’t happening.

He had a lot of post season play with the Cards (including a ring in ‘06), though he didn’t HIT particular well as a whole.

I think the animosity from the Phil’s fans and the ring in St Louis makes it pretty clear.

LOL

My Philly Phan coworker just told me this story a couple weeks ago.
The worst part of the Scott Rolen saga is not only do I have to deal with a guy who said fuck this place I want out, but he was dead on about Phillies ownership and their commitment to winning at that time. The way this town crucified the Phillies for trading away Rolen and Schilling and getting Jack shit in return is what sparked the needed change that created their squad from 2007-11 that won a World Series though.

I’m aware of that ring.

Yeah late 90's to early 2000s was a freaking joke. Ownership came up with some bullshit that they weren't going to spend any money until they had the new stadium was built. Total fucking joke. I love the new stadium but do you think if they would have gone to the playoffs with Larry Bowa managing people wouldn't have showed up because the stadium was outdated? The '93 Phils drew over 3 million fans at the Vet.
