PFF had heiny rated 41/42 eligible qbs. With no 21 turnover worthy plays. He had a lot of luck on his side though. They had Wentz 35/42.

I saw that. It kind of gave me a little hope. If we can come within a game of the playoffs with basically the worst combined quarterback play in the league, what will this team looking with solid QB play?

Without an OL, it will look just like it has. No QB can overcome poor pass blocking consistently. Of course, good play calling would help.

True, but also important to take into account the ease of schedule.

Wentz being a leader wasn't really an issue foe me to discuss here. I don't think he is a leader so I can't argue with that.. I also believe there are some Skins players who would've preferred that Taylor started the Browns game. That's still quite a ways away from players not having respect for Wentz..

And Wentz really wasn't the issue I take umbrage with. It's the HC and/or the owner, whichever one of them was the one who made the trade for Wentz. Just like the Brunell trade. The Skins gave up way too much in compensation n contract money that it hurt other aspects of the team. When all they had to do was be patient n they could've acquired Wentz in far more favorable fashion n a lot less risk.

Agreed. You can be a great player and not be a leader. I didn't ask about any of those things though. G said that nobody including the players have respect for Wentz. I'm not aware of anything quoted from a Skins team mates saying Wentz wasn't respected.

You can also have respect for a person and still feel they aren't the right person for a particular job.
i think GK is being way too harsh anout that . wince , by all accounts is a good man teammate and friend . . i dont like the trade we made for him not the guy himself and if we signed him with no loss of draft capitol , i would say keep him and see if yr 2 is better with howell the starter

How many times had we tried the route of a veteran qb? How many times has it worked?

the truth is that other teams are not going to give up a vet QB they have developed unless there is an issue with the player. We need to realize that we are going to have to develop our own. We need to draft a qb eve year u til we do. Howell may be it, if we have the patience and can fix the oline.
doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results is moronic.

Respect his play as an NFL QB…not as a man.

If it were only that easy right?

How many of our "own" have we developed in recent memory?

Shuler = No
Rosenfels = No
Ramsey = No
Campbell = No
RG3 = No
Cousins = Yes
Haskins = No

I am not saying we should give up. Hopefully, Howell is a "yes". The problem comes down to:

1. We drafted the wrong guy
2. They aren't developed appropriately

I feel more confident with a new GM and coaching staff drafting and developing our future QB than Rivera. I think the new regime will work wonders and we will be surprised how much the team improves with a GM running the show.
