That would have been odd. Bowers isn’t even the best player at his position in college football and I can’t ever remember a TE getting an invite to New York for the Heisman.

Unless you count Tebow as a TE…boom!

Bowers is a highlight reel with gamebreaking speed and athleticism for the position. Not to mention actual receiving ability. He can block too for being a smaller player.

Bennett is a 30 year old game manager and the reason why Georgia struggles in the 1H vs fluke trash like Ga Tech and only scores 16 points vs Kentucky. The thought that he gets an invite for the Heisman trophy when he probably isn’t even in the top 10 best players on his team is just insulting to the process. A bunch of provincial Southern college football media members were all butt hurt that there wasn’t a viable southern Heisman option this year so they all threw Bennett on their list as a 3rd or 4th place vote. It’s a joke. Not only does he have no chance to win it, he shouldn’t have even been invited. If they were hell bent on inviting 4 Blake Corrum has a much better argument to get invited to NYC for this honor.
